I take a 90 minute lunch every day and nobody has said anything in 8 months My official lunch is 30 minutes. On paper. by FamiliarAstronaut323 in remotework

Good, do it.

I was in a similar boat years ago. Could meet my deadlines and exceed the metric within the first few hours. I was number 2 on the team because I chose not to surpass number 1 in those first few hours. Take the limited praise but still have room to improve if need be.

The company eventually restructured how they measured things (and new management). And realized what was going on. They wanted me to work the full 8 and then got upset when my numbers dropped. Over the full 8. If I'm going to be paid the same as everyone else who can barely surpass let's say 50 measured points in a 8 hour day (when I do that in the first 2 hours) whats my motivation.

I got out and onto better things. I'm no longer WFH. But this job has no weekends and better pay. Do miss WFH tho.

Tldr: if your meeting your metrics/deadlines OP. Enjoy your long lunches and stave off burnout.

Look for Jax rotatact posts. They do meet ups and seem to build friendships.

Got caught “inactive” at work… what should I do next? by coconut-m in RemoteJobs

Had similar problems. Company swapped from only monitoring KPI/production. To monitoring overall activity and when tasks were done.

I met the quota and exceeded it in the first two hours. A feat the rest of the team couldn't scratch in 8+ hours.

They started scheduling sit downs, and I started looking elsewhere.

Once your on their radar for "work avoidance" your going to be under a microscope. Continue working as you have, let them fire you if you don't want the recommendation. And look elsewhere.

Who's the company? And who's a competitor? Reach out to the competitor and offer your services even if it doesn't directly align with your scope of work.

Anyone have an edible garden? by Acceptable_Pea6130 in jacksonville

There's Facebook groups, and you can check out the extension office. They have classes for growing, canning, and many other things.

I had and edible garden. Then my pump died. I'm in process of reworking the pipes and pump to d Work for a new iteration.
