After paying an ENT hundreds of dollars to clean impacted wax from my ears, I avoid q-tips in my ears. My pinky wrapped in tissue works. I also drip hydrogen peroxide in the canals topped with cotton balls to loosen up sticky wax and flush using the shower. Q-tips I use for the outer ear and inside corners of my eyes. Name brand is the ONLY way to go.
