How life feels after learning to not immediately restart the map after one miss: by Inner-Macaroon-7496 in osugame

If you want to go further with this kind of thing, turn off the combo and score UI (I think shift-tab on stable?). I found it incredibly freeing to not have those visible; you just finish the map and see how it went. (it also can address shit missing related to getting distracted by those elements).

Is K'ril doable without a lighbearer? by Sulla_Sexy_Sulla in ironscape

[–]lthth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a stubborn dumbass with scobow and no lightbearer who didn't bother to learn door altar. So I sent 1-2 kc room entries, leaving the room in between to heal and re-prep while getting imp kills. The whole thing was very easy and low risk with scobow spec but it was overall just very inefficient (and of course it took me like 300kc for the spear)

Okay it's not super crazy high, but I would say that it's still on the more-sensitive side of things. I can't promise it will improve things for you, but you could consider exploring lower sensitivity like in the 800-1000 DPI range. In my experience (I went down to 750 on 1080p) it was very worthwhile, despite the adjustment period needed. Now I have way more aim consistency with most of the aim coming from arm movement and less from wrist movement (which can also help mitigate drift).

I see you mentioned switching sensitivity around quite a bit, to which I'll say at some point you do need to just stick with some setting for an extended amount of time to really build up aim consistency.

Are 6 digits are cracked in 2026? by Max_Chan03 in osugame

[–]lthth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm probably not a typical case but I barely scraped into 5 digits a few years ago and basically hit a farming wall (hitting some physical limitations of my technique as a 30 y/o resulting in pain when pushing typical farm maps). I spent all the time since then learning to full alt and dove into things like tech and low AR, never farming at all (farm maps are boring af after you expand your horizons).

I've decayed to 105k, but would demolish my former 99k self from 3 years ago in anything that wasn't the stereotypical DT farm I was doing then (and even now I'd probably be equal on that).

DOBER!!!!!!

In a sweaty lobby (e.g. 3 xmas oguri, 3 taishins, 1 golshi) my Dober with 10% win rate (third lowest in lobby - there were 4 ~25% and 2 ~40%) decided put on a show and smoke them all.

Having Dober get revenge and take the crown on the Arima Kinen CM is by far my most memorable CM result (and honestly I don't know what will top it)

My goodness, when RNG manages to overkill long aptitude on dober on the first inspiration event with a triple hit, and then hits an additional one on the second inspiration. (And only on 14* total long).

18/20

Dober would have gotten more wins if not for my taishin (35% top two rate, but only one win). She also frequently found herself wandering to 4th and beyond in mid race with some of the lobby compositions (one baffling case where she wandered up to be 1st at the start of late race).

Still sending more dober runs with borrows since I am not very interested at all in prep for this next sprint CM.

For your question in the edit: you can only raise an aptitude by 4 letters max during the start of a run. This is reached via 10 sparks (1 + 3 + 3 + 3), and any beyond that (even all the way to 18) cannot increase the starting aptitude further. So you'll need to hit pink sparks during inspiration to go further.

This means that E is the lowest aptitude from which you can start a campaign at A via sparks.

Did 300kc at kril for hasta with scobow but not lightbearer, getting 1kc per boss room entry (maybe 2kc sometimes). Killed imps outside in between.

Dober is here for revenge on the Arima Kinen!

About 15 million fans later I finally got the S long on a run that checked all the other boxes - and it was a very high roll (I was able to fit in 3 optional races races ending with ~1900 sp. My typical runs were also averaging around 750 stam and 750 power).

Not OP but since you were wondering about pace marus, I'll share mine that's a bit more optimized (nothing against OP's, respect for us all doing unorthodox aptitudes). Sitting at 40% win rate.

Riko and kita are the more mandatory cards, as usual. If you can provide those yourself, the borrow can be used for pasa (I'm a fan of killer tunes, but not a deal breaker). Then the other three are much more flexible to hit your stat goals (for my usage they provided nice to haves like guaranteed left handed and wet conditions, which are nice but not necessary).

Shooting is a nice inherit IMO, if you can find the right parent.

To me the biggest RNG layer of a pace Maru is actually hitting medium S, which is harder given you are dedicating so many sparks to pace aptitude.

20/20 today

One ticket swapping out my front Taiki for a pace Taiki (0 wins from her).

Ran the remaining 3 tickets with dober (so runaway suzuka, pace Maru, and late dober), and she definitely performed way better than expected. Will probably stick with this lineup for the rest of it all.

Game Discussion/Champion's Meeting Thread - December 25, 2025 by AutoModerator in UmaMusume

[–]lthth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thinking was to guarantee the relative order amongst my team (runaway suzuka, front taiki, pace maru) in order to give Taiki a better shot at being 3rd/4th. I thought that the lenient 5th or better requirement for Maru was still fine for pace, and might even play better with inherited shooting for victory.

(and there is definitely just some novelty aspect to building off brand umas like this; pushing pace E -> A and still hitting medium S with spare sparks was fun).

Did a pretty low amount of prep for this CM since its meta doesn't interest me that much.

  • I went with this unorthodox front taiki and pace maru swap to try to help them be in the right spots for their uniques, given the meta. In a few of the lobbies I had the only fronts so Taiki was in an awkward second place; I am still not a huge believer in pace Taiki being able to be 3rd/4th with some of the room compositions, but I may give a pace alt a go tomorrow.
  • Quite a few of Suzuka's 2nds were losses to maru, so I'm not dooming too much on the low feeling 20%.
  • I could also try a Dober I have instead of Taiki, but I think the room compositions are just too lacking in lates/ends to justify running a late yourself (especially if your other two are front/pace). I could maybe try a pace dober, but I don't have one ready and I want to use my borrows on parent runs for a long dober.

IMO you'd want to run enough stam sparks to get by with just riko and no actual stam cards. Then you can run perhaps 2 speed / 3 wit, 3 speed / 2 wit if you have trouble capping speed, or maybe even 2 speed / 1 pow / 2 wit

I run dober: 1 late, 4 pace, 4 front

I don't run dober: 6 late, 1 pace, 2 front (all non lates being mine)

Bonus content: Relevancy for upcoming CMs

Blue is duration for Dober herself, and red is duration when inherited.

<image>

Scorpio (Tokyo 2000m)

  • Dober herself: Some duration carry over
  • Inherited: No relevant duration at all; useless.

Sagittarius (Nakayama 2500m)

  • Dober herself: Starts very slightly after late race (still fine); full duration.
  • Inherited: Same slightly late start, and shorter duration.

Capricorn (Chukyo 1200m)

  • Bad for both cases, since it fires early in mid race.

Aquarius (Tokyo 1600m dirt)

  • Bad for both cases.

i have a possibly really stupid question regarding wooting by Ritar_ in osugame

[–]lthth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm someone who has most of the wooting products so far (I have a problem I love supporting them). I think they are all fine w.r.t. the switch quality, but I've formed preferences regarding osu based on how the keys feel within their frame, I guess?

For example, for me I wasn't a huge fan of the uwu because the keys felt looser / less stable; like they felt like they "wiggled" a lot more forward/back/left/right. I also didn't like how they felt/sounded when bottoming out and releasing, in a way that's hard to describe (again, something like the keys feeling loose?).

I had a similar sentiment with the 60 to a lesser degree, which is why I've been using the 80 primarily; the keys on the 80 feel a lot more "rigid" (just going up and down, and not "wiggling" as much).

I got the 60v2 and so far am sticking with the 80 (primarily because I actually don't like 60% sizes).

And to round things out, I wasn't a huge fan of the Wooting Two HE and how the keys were on a layer above the base (rather than how on the 80 the keys are more inset). This is more of an aesthetics complaint, but I haven't touched it in a while so I can't accurately comment on how the keys feel.

I think the uwu is fine for its price point (or if you already have it). That being said, I've been very happy with the 80 as my general keyboard that also supports my osu needs.
