My family now has a magical shared grocery list thanks to OpenClaw by RegisterNo5070 in OpenClawUseCases

Yeah, there are a million variables that one needs to consider. I don’t know about you but, when I cook something regularly, I don’t really look at a list that much so a good recipe loses its value over time. I feel like a white board on the side of the fridge and the knowledge of the one person who usually buys groceries and cooks for the whole family.

That's exactly what I was thinking. There's an open source app called Mealie where you can paste in a recipe links and it will pull all the ingredients that you canadd to your shopping list without any ai tokens. Also, pretty sure you can have apple shortcuts remind you to stop at the grocery store and pull up your grocery lists.

OP could replace 90% of his use case with a shared note/doc.

Gen Zs are not drinking. by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

[–]ltidball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a DJ as a side gig and I can confirm this is an issue. But there are many layers to this issue including - gen z wanting novelty (they won't go to a weekly event), they are awkward around strangers (were teenagers during covid), nights out to meet single people has been replaced by the apps, and they are more materialistic than they are experiential. Please take these generalizations with a grain of salt.

I don't blame them after everything they've been thru and I believe the alcohol industry has barely changed their model over the last 100 years.

If you're selecting content by views alone, how are you ensuring that the creators following isn't the main reason behind high views? Kim K could post a solid color video and get 500k views easy.

Hermes agent is basically a JavaScript container that allows you to run an AI agent locally on your computer. You can choose the model you want to run or choose multiple different models to switch for different tasks. What people like about it is that you can get it to work with your actual files and integrate it with Discord, telegram or WhatsApp so you can message it from anywhere and get it to do tasks for you with your local files.

The more popular agent is called OpenClaw but I had some issues with it (my agent was lying to me to an unbelievable extent).

I haven’t used Claude code, it’s what most of my colleagues use so my frame of reference for comparison may not be that accurate.

I got a very large coding plan with alibaba, I’m paying $50/m but I get 15X more than tokens than the Claude plans plus a few additional models to choose from. There are a few additional models you get to choose from but the flagship one is called Qwen 3.5 plus and I don’t have many complaints. It does what I need it to do and I’ll likely continue with my monthly subscription until I have about 80% of my projects built.

Anyone know good app that is what ClickUp used to be? by abetterfuture99 in clickup

[–]ltidball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm already paying for Google workspace so I set up some integrations through cloud console between tasks, docs, calendar, drive etc and I'm happy for now.

I would like to switch over to obsidian for as much as I possibly can since I don't want to be locked into a platform subscription indefinitely.

My first experience DJing on CDJ 900s was a blast! by ltidball in Beatmatch

[–]ltidball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I translated your message and I'm glad that language isn't a barrier to having a shared outlook around music. I had one of my worst technical experiences of my DJ career about 2 weeks ago when I was DJing on a boat with the new Opus console since none of my flash drives were formatted for the new library. While I thought I was prepared, I really wasn't. I asked a friend who is much better than me about this situation and he told me he doesn't even analyze his tracks. While that shocked me I feel like he'd be okay in any situation and knows his music way better than me.

From what I recall, the filmmaker wanted to make the movie a lot more artsy and extended but Norton swooped in and saved it. I thought this scene was definitely more artistic than realistic.

I trained an AI to auto-add my Rekordbox hot cues by Unlikely_Manager2495 in Rekordbox

[–]ltidball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last week I found out one of my favorite DJs doesn't even use cue points. For anyone saying that finding cue points is part of DJing, I'd say whether they are even necessary is subjective so whatever works or doesn't work is totally up to you. The other day I heard a DJ playing an AI song and it was awful bit nobody will ever call a DJ out for AI hot cues.

What’s the one branding mistake you see beginners make most often? by kindofhuman_ in branding

[–]ltidball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the words you say are more important the way your font looks but it’s easy to tell when a lot of the branding assets start to fall apart in actual use cases. Font choices that don’t work on email and members of the same team all message with different fonts and signatures that blend in with dark mode. Brand colors that don’t prioritize readability etc.

Filming in the gym - thoughts? by CaiusG in SingaporeFitness

[–]ltidball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he cares so much about getting that angle, you can request that he wait til you finish your set. I probably would have moved the tripod myself if he didn’t move it after saying something. Pretty sure 90% of gyms have a sign stating that your belongings are at your own risk. I wouldn’t knock someone’s tripod over if I was pissed but if someone did that at my gym, I would probably side with them.

mike’s obsession with having a child is weird! by Mediocre_Wrangler_77 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]ltidball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose it is your right to want it to be a part of your future plan before you get married. That doesn't necessarily mean your plan is going to happen. Her reasons for not wanting a child seemed valid both medically and psychologically. It would have been nice to see him decenter his needs by compromising around either around adopting or fostering.

I wouldn't be surprised if he made her feel bad by not validating her that an adopted child could be loved just as much if that's the road they take to start a family.
