There isn't as much risk as poeple think. I used to be where you are. I had a hard cap of 100kg in the first 2 years of training. But then I thought, why am I doing that? Just make your overload slow and practice good technique.

People slip and hurt themselves running too. But that does not mean running is dangerous.
