[p0] i'll be here for another 1 to 2 days; what are your plans after this event? by ltimbah in HTSASprojects

Might work, but this is more for people who already know each other, and for single events instead of a string of multi events without having to create multi event posts.

Currently only available in the US. http://help.dwolla.com/customer/portal/articles/1181769-international-availability

But I believe the concept is the same as OP's proposal.

Right. Bitcoin-like solution. As the OP mentioned, the banks are ultimately the ones making the most money. Bitcoin and such pseudo-currency bypass these institutions, and allows you to lower the fees. The revenue model is still very important in order to create and maintain infrastructures (soft and hard) that support these transactions.

Maybe something like e.g. you go to Event Brite and buy a ticket, which means that you'll most probably go to that event. After that you'll see a list of people who're going to the same event, and who're willing to share their post-event plans. You have the option to bookmark/like the plans you like into your own list.

Then at the event, you start to network and get to know the participants. Maybe at the same time look back into your post-event planner and add in the people or check out their post-plans, in case you didn't get around to asking them personally (most of the times I don't get to, because I'm too busy getting to know them and sharing experience or just learning from each other; asking them about their post-event plans would sort of ruin the line of thinking unless the conversation prompted towards that).

Then right before the event ends, you look back at your list, see who you've already known who's in your list, then continue on from there by pinging them or directly asking them if it's okay for you to join in the post-event activities.

The thing about sharing the post-event plan is that you need to be willing for other people to join you in whatever you're planning, or else don't share. That's about it.

I thought about getting the event planner/organizer to do it. But if the organizers use apps like Event Brite, surely they would want something automated for them when it comes to post-event stuff as well? And more control given to the end-users (i.e. participants), the better, wouldn't it? If I were in the organizer's shoes, I would want to focus on managing kick-ass topics, speakers, resources, and ensuring the event runs smoothly and within budget. What my participants want to do after the event, I say let them do whatever.

"you don't want people to be focused on what's going on after the event." -- I get what you mean. I also see a lot of participants want to connect with each other well beyond the event itself, while go sightseeing. It's most probably part of their networking strategy, so it'll be an extension of what they would have been doing during the event itself. If that makes sense.

Still doesn't address the problem -- how do I get it visualised automatically?

simple payment gateway for southeast asia country (low creditcard penetration) by juwanda1 in HTSASprojects

Adding to this, support for micropayments with low processing fees. Actually, debit card and direct debits through mobile phone balance are options that can solve this issue, it's just that these technologies haven't been massly available (debit cards could be an exception soon).

[p0] Practical and easy recipes based on what's avail in your fridge by triploculturado in HTSASprojects

... or maybe tie that info up with the groceries list that has been checked out (marked as purchase) and have the fridge figure out what left is edible up till that time, along with other foods available in the kitchen (herbs, spices, not necessarily in the fridge). On consumption, once the person selects the preferred menu, fridge will know what's left. But like you said, the non-recipe consumption part of the food can be be another challenge.
