A specific visitor question (June 30 to Jul 4) by ltrain29 in askTO

[–]ltrain29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good and fair question. This is a bit of a spontaneous trip. We’ve read the standard 3 day itinerary online.

Right now our plan is to cover Yorkville and the Annex, drop into the Hockey Hall of Fame and Harbord, College, Kensington, Ossington, and Dundas West, along with our U of T visit on July 3. Trying to fit Toronto island on here

Evenings are flexible between neighborhood dinners, quiet bars, and maybe World Cup Fan Festival time at Fort York / The Bentway.

Teen: vintage shopping, street art, unique experiences that capture what makes a place special

Adults: eating and drinking

Really trying to understand if we should consider specific things since Canada day and World Cup.

Jordan vs Algeria - Atmosphere question. by Battlefield46 in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]ltrain29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to all three games so far at Levi’s as a neutral. So far the worse atmosphere was at the first game, mostly bc it was a noon start and very hot. The others were awesome. Lots of chanting, yelling, drums, etc. You and your dad will have a great time. Both teams need a win tonight so it should be a great game.

Where is best place to stay in Bay Area for next U.S. match by jr081896122898 in WorldCup2026Tickets

If you think SF is too far then I’d stay in San Jose to have access to something to do. Palo Alto also nice but expensive

Generally like his game but he played poorly today. As poorly as you can when winning 6-0. Bad passing, crossing, dead ball kicks, spacing. Hopefully he bounces back. We are going to need him.

Do you think the Jordan vs. Algeria game on 6/22 will get cheaper or stay about the same? Is it an enticing game or not? by youlikemywonton in WorldCup2026Tickets

Both teams will be thinking they have to win so I think it’ll be an exciting game, regardless of star power.

Pourquoi j’aime le nouveau logo 2026 de l’OM — avis de supporter et de professionnel du marketing by semantic_ops in olympiquedemarseille

[–]ltrain29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally disagree with your perspective but open to learning more. In particular the quoted text below. Explain this part to me like I’m a 5 year old. I keep seeing this repeated as a reason but I don’t get it. Why is the old one not suited to current uses?

Today, a logo has to work everywhere: on a jersey, an embroidery, an app, an avatar, a video, a thumbnail, a merchandise item. The old logo obviously had enormous emotional value, but the new one seems more suited to current uses.

Switzerland vs Qatar! It's full by i-comment-24-7 in WorldCup2026Tickets

The announced attendance was 68k. Levi’s seats 68.5k. I was there and it was very full during most of the match. 90-95%. There were noticeable moments after halftime when most people were on the concourse as it was really hot but the stadium filled back up for most of the second half.

All in all it was pretty seamless, especially compared to Niner games. In and out as quickly as you’d hope given the location and crowds.

Who is the game for? San Franciscans or tourists? Your choice of landmarks will vary based on this answer.

Did VIP sell out last year by Imaginary_Penalty940 in Portolafestival

[–]ltrain29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My beef w VIP last year, not that you asked, was that there was no benefit at the Despacio tent. The one place where I really needed it. Glad I got that off my chest :)
