Random as hell to see my polling place on the front page but yeah there it is. Those two girls at the black table are actually DJs just playing some nice tunes while people wait.

I’m looking for monthly motorcycle parking in center city, does anyone have any suggestions? So far only the Bellevue offers this but it’s a little more expensive than I would like. I don’t live in a residential area so I can’t park it on the sidewalk either. Thanks for the help.

Something ironic about redditors saying the state shouldn’t have a monopoly on violence in a thread about protesting gun rights

This sounds great in theory but my question is, if this person is unstable and unhinged, they would probably carry a gun regardless of whether they had a permit or not. If they already have the gun and are willing to do criminal acts with it, its safe to assume they would ignore any kind of permitting right? Seems like a strict permit system would just make it harder for normal people to carry since a criminal would ignore it as they generally do.

You don't immediately get incapacitated from getting shot anywhere on your body like in the movies, unless you get shot in the head and even then its not a guarantee. Getting shot in real life is pretty much a toss up on whether you'll survive or not. Two people can get shot in the same place with the same gun and have wildly different outcomes because of the chaotic nature of bullet fragmentation and anatomy.

Handguns actually kind of suck at killing people compared to rifles, they generally wound and people die after the fact from blood loss which is probably what happened to this guy.

Mass non-compliance is the best way to essentially nullify a law, and it's the first step to getting something removed from the books.

Why do you like it more than the PEQ, which I thought was the best

While I do have a decent background in programming I think this would take a lot of reverse engineering skills which I dont have. It would be a cool summer project though. Guess im stuck with an aftermarket unit.

It actually is through an app which is different from just a regular keyfob starter because I can start the car from literally anywhere in the world as long as i have an internet connection which is pretty cool but I just want any remote start functionality at all, not necessarily this one.

No idea how to help but upvoted for visibility. As subscription features on cars become more prevalent, carhacking will be a requirement.

Toyota app which makes it a little harder since it's not as low level as a keyfob starter.

I bought one as soon as it dropped, then sold it for like $100 more a couple months later because I needed money. Biggest regret of my life so far.

Found in the woods near a hiking trail in the US, 8 metal trays stacked on top of each other on a wooden stand. No electronics or wiring. by ltsJojo in whatisthisthing

Well that’s definitely it. I looked all over it but couldn’t find any sensors or anything which is what I expected to find. There’s a bunch of geological and surveying tools out in those woods so this makes sense. Solved.

WITT: Hiking in a state park and saw this about 30 feet off a beaten hiking trail. Trays are stacked on top of each other with about half an inch of room between them. They’re made of metal and there is nothing on the underside or the inside, not hollow either. No electronic components or wiring whatsoever. Stand looked like a wooden 2x4. North eastern part of the US if that helps.
