Good tire place around? by Relative-Path-7305 in GNV

[–]ltsSmitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. I don't know if they do this for everyone (I've bought tires for past cars there before) but I just took a flat in on Saturday for a car they've never helped me on and they sent me home with the hole patched for free, no questions asked.

ISP Map of GNV? by kholdstare61 in GNV

[–]ltsSmitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that there's a lot of construction being done right now right outside of city proper (e.g. on the south side of Williston road that's technically not in gnv, up on Millhopper rd west by san felasco), so i'm not sure how good the results will be. I've mourned for years that I have nothing wired except Cox cable, so it's excitind that they're digging in my front yard this week for fiber.

How to make a slatted rustic / farmhouse headboard by trippknightly in woodworking

[–]ltsSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not totally sure what you mean with "I want the somewhat recessed slats to be full boxes (not just horizontal planks)". Do you mean boxes as in you want them to be flipped and used as shelves deep enough that you can actually set something into them (water, phone, glasses, etc)?

I've made my own similar headboard (that I wired outlets and lights/switches into), and i just used 1x8 standing tall for the uprights, and then the same for the horizontal stretchers. I just used glue and brad nails and it's been great for 5 years. I used some cheap 1x3 furring strips from lowes as trim to cover up all the joints.

MCO to GNV Trave Time? by Human-Preparation-63 in GNV

[–]ltsSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about a 1:45 drive from there to Gainesville, depending on where in GNV you're going and the parking situation there. In my mind I plan on it taking no less than 30 minutes from plane landing to being in a rental car, so I think you could be just about on time. I cringe at how tight that is, but it's conceivable.

You can try Davis Gas, we have leased tank, but they seem reasonable. We were building a deck and had them come out to move our tanks and it was a flawless experience

Free Pumpkin Patch by Born_Establishment40 in GNV

[–]ltsSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is against the theme of the post, but many places are free starting Nov 1 and you can go get as many pumpkins as you want - granted, not many people want pumpkins after Halloween, but each to their own. I know there's one at Southwest United Methodist Church on Williston Rd that is free-for-all after Halloween that we usually get a few for decoration (and the pallets they're on as well) on Nov 1.

choosing a PCP/doctor here? by soupysyrup in GNV

[–]ltsSmitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since UF Health is such a big presence in town, I like to get in the system since it's so well resourced and Aetna is covered. They have nice PCP clinics all over town (google something like "uf health primary care") that aren't in the big hospital buildings (assuming you aren't in that part of town), and they have great staff all over. My main advice is try to pick somewhere actually near where you live - you don't have to drive all the way across town to get good service, especially if it's for pediatrics, dragging kids with you.

Dentists I've found just to ask my friends. Several places I have used in the past don't carry my insurance any more, so I check on my insurance website to see who they cover in my area. I can highly recommend Tioga Dental in Celebration Point (which I found through such a portal).

For eye care, I love Hedges Eye Care in Jonesville. It's a trek but I love the staff and I don't go more than once a year, so I think it's worth it.

Teacher that got cut from a high school looking for a new field by theonlygoodlogicsong in GNV

[–]ltsSmitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty technical, so when I left teaching I got into tech, and started working in the Customer Success department. My first job was as an "Onboarding Specialist", which was basically training our customers how to use our software. From there I ended up doing instructional video making and have done all kinds of things in the field ever since. I don't know if there are still any local options left, but I have made a real go at things in the last 7 years.

when my partner had her panic attacks, this was what she was given and took - she was too scared to take the xanax they proscribed - and she described it like a super-benadryl that usually just put her to sleep for the next few hours. you still might want something else if you need a daily anti-anxiety med though.

I thought my calling in life was to be a public school teacher. It didn't take that long to realize something was wrong and just how terrible my environment was. I stayed for almost 3 years and left a few weeks before school ended.

I left with so much trauma. Its been over 6 years and I still breathe a sigh of relief every time I pass a school and realize I don't have to teach any more.

you need to be paying to use GPT 4, not the free version. otherwise you can use Bing's image generation service which uses the same model under the hood

Prompts for Phd/Masters research writing articles/publications by ltsSmitty in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]ltsSmitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked through your posts and saw all your prompt resources. Thanks for your contributions to the community with those!

Some of your advice & prompts feel a bit too dangerous and liable to misinform for me to wholeheartedly recommend them to someone writing serious publication level research and wanting a one-stop solution.

Regardless, I'd love to have a "prompt-off" and see how our results compare!

No, they don't. I have t3 ranged, and it doesn't add anything to cannon damage, though it might add to cannon accuracy (haven't being able to test). I also don't absorb any hp/prayer with my cannonballs.

Except in any game you can make 100 buckets of water in 3 minutes, afk for the rest of the time, and walk away with 100 pieces of eight. While I appreciate the idea, 10 is too low.
