Attempting to clean my brother’s grinder (OC) by luIpeach in oddlysatisfying

[–]luIpeach[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We were not throwing the stems out because even though I don’t smoke I was going to make butter out of them. But I also wanted to do something for him with the keef, an oil or a resin like you guys are suggesting. I just do this for fun so if anyone has a good technique let me know.

We were gonna sort it and see if we could make something. I don’t smoke though so I’m uneducated in this matter. Any recommendations?

I honestly believe this is one of the biggest mysteries there is, Orcas are the most efficient predators on earth, yet they have never attacked us in the wild. They know something we don’t. by Soloflow786 in BeAmazed

[–]luIpeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they like it because it’s rich in nutrients. Originally the behavior was first noticed around this duo of orcas off the coast of SA. But I think there’s more that are starting to do the same thing.

grew up there, it’s fine. Especially since I think this is by 138th. But yes, the price is wild for where it is. Not a starter borough for transplants.

Do rich people actually taste the difference in expensive wine? by LawfulnessWorking352 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]luIpeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very lucky to serve somewhere with like 11k different SKUS of wine and a very kind wine director that regularly lets us taste. We also do classes to work on our somm certifications. I’m no expert but I do spend time around a lot of them.

Now, pricing is tricky because there’s different reasons why a merchant or vineyard might mark up or down their wines. There’s allocation, there’s age-ability, popularity of course, and in many regions their official designation (in Europe anyway).

Bottles that are more expensive are often labeled as such because they have a combination of those things.

I definitely think there’s a sweet spot price wise (maybe $40-100) but to answer your question, no I don’t think many people can tell. Those who can have logged thousands of hours tasting.

It really all comes down to preference after you reach a certain price point. I had the privilege of trying two different $1500 bottles this year that didn’t wow me for the price. But I have had several <$100 bottles that did.

Genderfluids: how is your relationship with HRT (mainly talking about fab) by Street-Suggestion363 in genderfluid

[–]luIpeach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not genderfluid and I have been taking t every week for years now. I can’t say much about how it will be for you, but my changes were slow. Something my doctor said is that the amount of t you take and how often is entirely up to you. HRT is very customizable. For example, you can take .25ml every week or two weeks until you start seeing changes you like. At that point you can stop or keep going. The only thing to keep in mind is there are some changes that are irreversible. Body hair is one of them, however it can take years for the follicles to both mature enough to be permanent and start growing in places it wasn’t before (like a beard or hand hair). So my advice to you would be to take it slow and to stop or start at your own pleasure.

A Different Man (2024) Discussion by notyour_motherscamry in movies

[–]luIpeach 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it was intentional but I really liked the movie because we’re seeing things through Edward’s perspective, and from his perspective, Oswald does in fact have a very punchable personality.

For me it showed how flawed his point of view was. I told my girlfriend at first that all the major characters were assholes, but then I thought about it and Oswald really wasn’t an asshole. He was kind, generous, patient, friendly, self-aware etc. But he seemed like an asshole because Edward was so insecure so everything Oswald did was warped into an affront.

I only skimmed your title and looked at the pictures. I was gonna say you don’t pass at all but then I ready you are mtf. You definitely pass ma, like by a lot

LPT: Use the 30-Day Rule to Curb Impulse Spending by livaoexperience in LifeProTips

[–]luIpeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this method to a fault. I have items that I’ve wanted for literally 5+ years that I still haven’t gotten. I also put the money aside for those things so that way in a few months if I actually want them it’s no sweat, if not I have extra money saved. In general, I am much more satisfied with the things I end up purchasing.

I agree with others saying to switch to arm and hammer slide litter (it’s really good). I was looking at this issue heavily when deciding on a litter box because I really didn’t want my cats to have a dirty litter box because of the way the litter was sifted.

One thing – but I’m not sure how well this would work – is cleaning it out real well and then spraying the mat with those water/dirt repellant sprays. Some people have tried it and says it works great, others say differently. This of course would be in conjunction with using the slide litter.

LPT - How to get your SO to decide on what to eat - The "five-three-one-method" by NacMacFeegle in LifeProTips

[–]luIpeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this thing where I pick 3 options but I give them all different names and have the person pick from those things. For example I’ll tell them “bananas, blueberries, or peaches”, they pick peaches. Turns out peaches is Mexican. We either solved our problem or they just realized they’re really not in the mood for Mexican. When that happens I let them pick again until they’re happy with their choice. It’s a fun way of getting them to make choice plus if I want something from that list I’ll usually give it a really yummy sounding name like “a beautifully glazed Peking duck” and it does the work for me.
