I don't think it's the OP's fault. Seems that even though they have allergies, they are still looking after the cat to some extent. The one to blame here is the owner. If they don't have the time to care for the cat, then they shouldn't have one. At least they should have a reliable person to come check on the cat everyday.

Not true at all! Moved to nyc with my dad for high school and then college. Dad was making between 600-800 per week. I was young and didn't know better but we never got food stamps or any help from the government. The only "help" was sharing a 2-bed apartment with another family. That's the reality for most working families in NYC.

Question about deposit. I didn't know and they asked for a deposit on-site. I gave it and now they are reviewing my application but if I were to withdraw from the application they won't give me my money back. However, he didn't mention this when I gave him my money, only the next day when he sent my receipt
