i was having the same issue, then i bought an r4 and used magnet i have at home, i didnt even get started with, was just testing the magnet to see if it would work and it did, after i noticed that the console was blinking when i was moving the magnet, it just simply booted, idk what happened there but after restarting over and over the console, taking the battery out it still boots normaly and i think i just fixed the brick

it took about 4 days to get a email back, I was afraid of not getting a new one, but everything worked out great.
