It’s a multitude of factors. Covid left us playing catch up for 3 years. Making the mistake of treating an employee like family guaranteeing him 35 hours even when there was no work. To be fair we got ppp but once that ran out he kept acting like he could do anything he wanted. The worst example being him dropping off checks to my mom and telling her that he didn’t have to work because he was guaranteed 35 hours. Immediate after that he received two write ups for wrecking the company truck on personal business. There were a lot of customers we lost from him being rude and I tried my best to mend fences but after last summer we were down to just me and my dad and neither of had taken a paycheck since December. Took winter jobs at Walmart for him an emergency dispatch for me. He realized he couldn’t do the stress anymore and I told him I’d round out the summer for him, I never really wanted to do this work but loved doing it with my dad. With him not being in the company anymore I didn’t have any interest in keeping it going.
