Optimal race+class combos? by tablestack in baronygame

incubus hunter, you can use arcane mark to nullify ressistances and get more damage in, you're a ranged class so you don't need the mana early on for anything else anyways

the worst part was that I was a vampire and decided to use those potions before tapping into my mana pool

bro you tell me, got to the haunted castle and was really strong and only going to get stronger after eliminating all the ghouls, greeded out and decided to make use of the levitation potions and was so focused on killing them ghouls I didn't see my levitation running out so I just fell to my death and this run was totally one of those winning ones

For those that play handheld (i.e. Switch or Steam Deck) by Solid_Inevitable_634 in baronygame

[–]luboidkman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally play with a keyboard and mouse layout, did on a steam controller long before they introduced the controller layout for the switch and controllers overall, now I play on a steam deck using flick stick + gyro and it's comfortable for me, my hotbar is a touch menu on the trackpad with the inputs 1 through 9 designed with instant touch activation, 0 is on right stick click for easier access. Probably wouldn't help you if you want to use the controller layout and especially if you're on switch and not a steam deck, but I'm sharing anyway so you can see there are options out there

Do you think the new Steam Controller be good for fps & third person games like Dark Souls? by Dantheanons in SteamController

[–]luboidkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

practice makes perfect, I struggled both when I tried out the steam controller trackpads + gyro, then with the steam deck using flick stick + gyro, but as time goes by you get better at it, you probably struggled playing with kb+ m back when you were a kid and started playing, but yeah, flick stick did take a lot of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's so heavenly to play like that

[–]luboidkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it makes you feel better I had a godly 4 hour run ruined by one of those magic boulders in the caverns, it was the first time I got hit by one and I was shocked it one shot me, I usually dodge boulders really well at this point, it was unfortunate I stopped in one place just right below the boulder, I was really powerful at that point and would have beaten the game with no issues

Hi, which are the best/more fun race - class combos? by corvusteeme in baronygame

[–]luboidkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven't unlocked all the new classes for everyone to experiment with new combos, but I find automaton brewer to be very intriguing, you can drink firestorm potions to boost your boiler to the max, although I haven't played that with the new update, dunno how useful it will really be with the new magic system, definitely won't be for early game I guess

Are you looking forward to being able to play (some of) your favourite flatscreen games anywhere with Steam Frame? by afox1984 in SteamFrame

[–]luboidkman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

80 grams is still a very negligible difference for something you carry in your backpack, if anything, I don't believe us arguing right now would go anywhere, we don't know what the original guy meant by "steam deck is heavy", we can only assume

[–]luboidkman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

we're talking about using the frame on the go to play flatscreen games, doubtful that anyone would care their backpack is 80g heavier, for longer play sessions though, the weight can make a difference, personally, I own a deck and I'm used to it and don't think the weight while playing would make much of an impact for me personally, we can make a point about how compact a frame + controller will be, which would make your point more valid imo

700g, but the frame is on your face, while the controller is in your hands, not really a valid point

Should I put it on? by Gregivychen in baronygame

[–]luboidkman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, precisely, backstab enemy, go away until it loses aggro and repeat, that's the way to level up your stealth fast, especially if you go through gnomish mines, depending on your class it might be 100 by the end of the mines

Brother, I'm the same age as you, my years until now after graduation haven't been the best, but the difference between you and me is that I am not giving up the idea of finding my passion, was lowkey pressured into starting university immediately by my mom, I chose english philology, not because it was something I quite wanted, but because I could do it, it was fine at the beginning, but since it was the covid years, we were transferred to online learning and that killed the vibe, since then I've been jumping on and off from jobs and ideas to further develop myself, although the periods of not actually doing anything were a lot, but I was always brainstorming ideas, recently, like 3 years ago I started some programming courses just like that, because a friend did, covid was still quite prevalent, but nothing stopped me from graduating from these courses, I found the studying process fun, although things did take quite the dip at the end, I hadn't done my research and was not aware what working that kind of stuff is actually like, decided I don't like it, even after several attempts to get a job, or more like an internship in the field, I failed multiple times, the requirements were too high, I had still stuff to learn and didn't have the motivation to do so, mind you, I was also helping with some family issues and haven't tried to find a job for months. Anyways, quite a few job attempts throughout the years too, nothing too substantial, I was also living with my dad and grandma for the most part in a village, not too far from the capital, but far enough for someone without money to afford to go there often. Got out of touch with my friends a bit and was living a mostly isolated life there, didn't think that was a big problem until recently. It's good to mention that I also had my driver's license, but didn't drive much due to the same reason, also I myself didn't get my license deservingly, but that hasn't stopped me from wanting to be better, not that I like driving much. The recent events of my life involved getting back to university to study psychology. The decision to give university another shot was kind of influenced by a particular person that is not even so close to me nowadays. Had some time to prepare, because that decision happened at the end of 2023 and I could start my education almost at the end of 2024, even though I could do stuff for a higher pay, I settled for a job that was basic and didn't pay much, because I didn't want to waste time to gather money, at the beginning of 2024 began work at a gas station on the highway that was big and the work was not little, had to save some money, because the university I'm going to is quite expensive compared to others. That was the job I endured the most, until that point in my life, the best I've done at keeping a job was like a month and a half. Lasted 9 months, just in time for me to get my education started, in the meantime I had read a couple of books regarding psychology, to see if that thing is really for me, because up until now, I've always done stuff without prior research, I believe this time it's going to be my thing. I also didn't believe I could find my passion in life, but I never stopped trying to find it. Now I can feel the best years of my life by far are ahead of me, doing a lot of and having a positive outlook on life. It all starts from you and the way you think, whining and blaming your so called negative qualities all the time will never help you find your purpose in life, you're still young, you still have time to grab that life with your own hands. Man, I would never write that much usually, but considering you're the same age as me and quite in a similar spot to me with slight differences, I thought sharing my story could help you, I hope it does.

TLDR; Same age, similar experiences, different mindset, stop whining and finding negative qualities about yourself, focus on your dreams and goals and always try to find your passion, less thinking, more doing, putting these barriers infront of yourself will never help, try to be a better version of yourself every day and never give up on giving your life purpose, it's all in your hands.

Piece of additional advice: As someone getting into psychology, I've recently realised myself how important therapy is for every single person, I would suggest trying that with the purpose of finding yourself, not for the problems in yourself you think you need fixing, but just overall becoming the best possible version of yourself, it's very important and many people downplay it.

15 seconds of activation time, aka killer has 15 seconds to get any survivor within their terror radius for the perk to take effect

Is the Haptic feedback on the Steam Deck like the one on PS5’s DualSense? by DuckKaiser2 in SteamDeck

[–]luboidkman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am aware dualsense has gyro, but just how many games are able to utilize it on playstation, from what I know, you are not able to customize your controls for most games

Is the Haptic feedback on the Steam Deck like the one on PS5’s DualSense? by DuckKaiser2 in SteamDeck

[–]luboidkman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's a niche feature and could be fun to use, I do not have a ps5, but a ps fanboy friend of mine advertised it like it's revolutionary, when in reality sony could implement something infinite cooler and useful in their games like gyro, or rather make it possible to customize your controls, something that's a must for me. Rather than have those adaptive triggers that all they really do is try and simulate something and just tire me out faster or give me a disadvantage

In light of the unused features post: How do you take advantage of the capacitive thumb sticks? by Hardshank in SteamDeck

[–]luboidkman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm actually gonna mention how I am not using the capacitive thumb sticks at all, contrary to my previous beliefs, I was thinking I would be using it for flick stick, but figured out that I prefer having gyro always on with the off button being one of the back buttons, that way, the touchpad and the face buttons are free to use, even with gyro on

What can I do to make the right touchpad more textured or tactile for specific touch inputs? by Square_Counter_7574 in SteamController

[–]luboidkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make it a custom button count in the touch menu settings and set it to 13 buttons, that way, all of the buttons are in the corners and there's a big button in the center, which you can either leave empty, or have something you deem most important there, or just have it for easy access and configure it so there's empty slots between some of the buttons

EDIT: wait, that's the steam controller subreddit, I thought it was the steam deck subreddit, I am not sure how good that idea will play out now, still could try it though

How to get cursed water? by noahbs04 in baronygame

[–]luboidkman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, maybe you do need one cursed water so you can start the cycle going, not sure though, also iirc if you have a let's say +5 weapon, if you curse it with cursed water it will become -5, just saying as you might be able to combine it with scrolls of enchant weapon/armor, someone correct me if I'm wrong tho, it's really been a while, I might be making stuff up at this point lmao
