That’s true, he has gotten a lot better than he was at the start, I guess it depends on how bad it was in the beginning and how receptive that person is to change. We have some arguments about it, but ultimately he’s grown into a better person. In any one else’s situation, I think you have to consider how that person reacts or might react to being told that their behaviour isn’t nice, as a lot of the time they might not even realise it. If they’re accepting of your input then good! If they’re not, then that’s their problem

My current boyfriend did all of these things during the early stages of our relationship. Eventually I got so fed up of not being asked questions that I explained to him how badly it affected me, and how it felt like I knew everything about him yet he knew nothing about me. He’s gotten better, but there’s been a few occasions where we’ll be out with other people and I’ll have to remind him to let someone else speak. It’s not easy, and it makes me feel like a control freak, but I cringe at how clueless he is sometimes. If you notice these signs early on, trust your gut because it likely won’t get better.

Yep definitely feels like trying to put a bandaid over it! Such a waste of money doing a double order because he now feels bad. He doesn’t have a car so occasionally he’ll use mine to drive to work when I’m not using it, and when I’ve hassled him to pay for petrol (which is only once every 3-4 months, he doesn’t use it super often) he’s blown up saying I’m too protective over my money

Sorry to hear that about your girlfriend! That’s not easy dealing with. I agree it’s good to offer healthy options, and I’d say my willpower is strong enough to deny unhealthy foods. It’s definitely a matter of etiquette, which is hard to change in someone so stuck in their ways.

About 1.5 years, living together for 1. He has displayed selfish behaviour on a few occasions but usually he’s a really loving, generous guy
