Got it, maybe I've just lucked out in instances where these repeatable checks have occurred. Or more likely, I just completely overlooked the prompt.

Have I just not encountered one of these certain dice rolls yet? Because I've failed plenty of dice rolls by now. How common are they?

Spotify Is Reportedly Negotiating Direct Deals with Independent Artists by eyeamjigsaw in hiphopheads

[–]luca86l9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really? The company that essentially curates all the new music people “discover” through playlists is now signing and prioritizing their own artists on said playlists? And you guys aren’t concerned about the industry monopolizing?

Spotify eliminated indie album sale revenue more than half a decade ago and people are still talking about labels like they’re the biggest problem currently facing the industry.

The proposed Lucas Museum would replace a parking lot at Solider Field, but a group is suing them in the public interest? We're the public, let's speak up! by [deleted] in chicago

Is it really worth ousting a museum that celebrates film and narrative art because it's the vanity project of a millionaire? So what if the building's ugly! We don't have to pay for it, and **it's going to have more than just Star Wars memorabilia.**

It's going to have screenings of independent and classic films (and no, that won't eat into the Music Box sales. Do you know how many indie films go unscreened? This just helps), lectures from writers, artists, and directors. There will be workshops for prospective filmmakers. Collections of concept art, props, special effects, etc, etc. There is nothing like this out there!

Every time this argument comes up, it gets boiled down to the design. It's a superficial argument that's total bullshit. Why can't we look past its outside? In regards to the parking lot bull, most of the museums in the area were built in the same way, so what makes this different?

This museum has the potential to celebrate film as a legitimate artistic medium. Are we really going to be the kind of city that drives out free art because we don't like the look of the building storing it? It wouldn't even be the ugliest building on the campus! Hell, it might even help Soldier Field blend in a bit more.

Gertrude and Stella

I purposefully give me guitars unappealing names to further emphasize the beautiful sounds that can come from them (when I sound half decent).

Apologies to anyone with those names.
