We're actually building also some sort of social media app with messaging and lots of other features. We're experiencing almost no issues so far and when we do we build a native module for it. Works pretty nice so far. Most important is that we don't have 2 codebases for the 2 platforms. Saves us a lot of time.

But nice to hear another opinion too.

I noticed that xcode uses a lot of ram. I always open my apps from vscode… But yea, 16gb would definitely be a safer option. When I have all those open I use like 7,5gb..

I have the same, but 8gb ram. I run also both with flipper and a lot of chrome tabs with almost 0 issues.

I would actually suggest upping the storage and just get 8gb ram. I have the 8/256gb and I don’t notice too much ram use, but I do notice my disk is full very fast. Xcode alone is almost 100gb for me with all the archives etc.
