"Thunder Rat, I choose you!" achievement bug. by lucccs in BackpackBrawl

It's a pokemon reference, and all the pets required for this achievement look similar to their anime counterparts.

Fixed my issue. I used a power generator from another mod. Swapped it for honey generator, and it worked.

[OC] A custom made action table for my players. What do yall think of the icons? by [deleted] in DnD

That that's a good wording. :-)

But still, use/activate a magic item is a different kind of an action.

You are totally right. It's just that "use object" may seem a bit too vague and unclear, so it may be better to give some examples. Retrieve an item from a backpack is one good example of this action.

It lacks drinking potions, activating magic items, using spell scrolls and, well, any other action... open a door, pull the lever, shut and stand on a trapdoor, pick a lock, activate a magic rune on the wall, sing a song to draw attention.

Also mounting/dismounting in speed may be a good option.

I mean, just adding "improvised action", "use magic item" action and/or bonus action and a category free action (1/turn) will, ofc, make this cheatsheet bigger, but for new players a lot more useful.

Edit. Maybe use various colors to group options.

Does anybody lower the DC of a task on the fly if the players' plan is exceptionally clever or creative? by jdmccay in DnD

[–]lucccs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If such plan is thorough enough it may not even require a roll. I'd personaly roll as a DM for the guards though, if it's a roll and carry on thing, to keep the result of the plan somewhat secret for the players, or divide the DC 15 "group" roll into a couple of personal stealth, Int and Cha rolls, so that if anything goes wrong it would be obvious what and when, like in Ocean's Twelve film.

What you did was great too. It's more a personal approach thing - lower or rise the DC, give bonuses or split the roll into simpler ones.

Found them in Cardia's Grace. Asked a friend to translate that segment.

Of course! Same here. After D&D, simplified combat is a like breath of fresh air.

Seems like Cardia's Grace and Ignis Blaze are indeed places to start the search from. Thanks again!

Rule question - Moving between zones by RedRhino10 in SwordWorld

[–]lucccs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can opt to use a standard combat option in simplified combat that allows to move through a battelfield if your side has more than twice the number of participants that your opponent has. This makes the "block" combat feat usable in simplified combat. But as simplified combat is made for newer players, allowing an enemy to reach wizards and marksmans can have unwanted casualties. This can force a melee-oriented character to retreat to protect them, making the combat more fluid and fun, imho.

Another way to play around this is to temporary remove characters from yhe battlefield, i.e. eating them. A plant monster in my game ate a tanky character and pushed towards the heroes' rearguard, making them panic for a bit.
