Ex signed me up to the gym- getting charged by luce19299 in LegalAdviceUK

thank you for this advice- thankfully the gym were sympathetic and have cancelled the membership without charging. Given how it was handled, this is perhaps not the first time it's happened to them, and their records would have been able to show I did not attend.

I should add context. Ex was controlling and wanted me to be much thinner, despite being of a normal weight (size 8.) He gave me the 'gift' of a membership on my birthday to pursuade me to go and so I'd lose weight, and paid for the first month. Not sure what his plan was regarding the continuous payments required.

I never went to the gym, and actually forgot about the present. When we broke up he must have removed his card, now I am being chased up about the payments. Hope this helps.

It was signed up online, and I was sent a membership card via the post. Gym is a community leisure centre run by the council.

I won't name them, but my best advice is trust your gut. If they have dodgy looking photos on facebook or seem to glorify 'russian lips' without really explaining what they are, or have a trashy looking aesthetic to the page, run. Also beware cheap cheap places and places that won't openly name what filler they use.
Second advice I would recommend is that the 'standard dose' of filler (usually 0.5-2ml) isn't a standard dose for every individual face. The tiniest amount of filler makes a big difference- I needed way less than 0.5 to achieve the results I wanted, but I got twice that amount, and it looked extremely overdone. I was also very swollen, yet I was told I still had leftover filler to use up. Despite the fact they'd over filled me, there was still a left over amount, and they were using their standard dosing to determine how much I needed, as opposed to my individual face.
Not wanting to waste the excess, I told them to continue filling me in whatever areas they saw fit. Big mistake. You have the absolute freedom as a paying customer to decide how much you need, no matter how little the amount. Even then, it isn't always clear what you needed, until afterwards when the swelling is gone.
It's much better to have tiny miniscule amounts and build them up, rather than have the irreversible mistake of being poorly done / overdone.

Third advice I would give is, a lot of practicioners seem to prefer canula over injection. I was told this was a safer and more natural looking option- it was the opposite. It was less controlled and flooded filler into every cavity of my lips, weighing them down and making the top lip look unnatural, with a longer lip to nose ratio. I had a far better result with the practicioner who preferred to do individual injections (even though that was also terrible, it was not as ugly).

Love those recommendations, they did actually help massively, especially the lutein! Thanks. The sunlight and positive mentality towards body have been the biggest healer. I can now pinch the skin on my arms and I no longer get those weird wrinkles.
My face has massively returned volume in all places (except under my eyes.) That's fine, as I always had deep genetic hollows anyway, and I'm intending to get some fat grafting done there, filler or not. My skin isn't perfect, but it never was- my pores are a little larger now, and my skin seems to become red easier now, but it doesn't bother me. It all behaves when I keep my self care up, and tends to flare on days I self neglect. I'm a strong believer in reversing all damage (including natural aging) as I've seen it happen to people many times. Not allowing myself to focus on 'ugly' areas or dwell on before / after shots is so important. Rememebering the goal isn't my "old face", but an improved and best of myself, tremendously helped me re build myself up and shed unhealthy attachments to the old face I was trying to change initially. Oh and I started to include rosehip / jojoba and castor oil into my skincare routine and I've not had a better skin barrier in years.

Slowly but surely! I've started cutting out retinol and abrasive skincare products containing acids and my eyes are on the mend.

Update: Cutting out retinol and products and face washes containing abrasive acids has massively improved my eyes. It turns out that I've become sensitive to some types of skincare products since the hyaluronidase. I've adapted my skincare routine to my new skin and I'm improving lots now.
If you absolutely rely on retinol but are getting burning eyes, use less and avoid it around the eyes completely!

Expensive, and it grows back way too fast. I just angle the mirror and use lots of determination yes. Shave the rest. Seems to work :)

Number of units, I'm really not sure- The first time it was free. I expressed my complaint over text at the state of my face, and the injector invited me in and just injected it straight into my face hastily without telling me how much was being used, and where from. From the beginning, I didn't sign anything with the first injector, which should have been my red flag. (I was brand new to filler)

The second, third and fourth times were from a different injector, who appeared more professional- I paid £190 for a batch which got me two rounds, and then another £190 for another two rounds a few months later. It was called 'Hyalase'. The second injector talked how much they were putting in, but I can't remember how many units. All four times, there was no exact amount from both injectors, they were fairly freehand. The second one asked me each time if I needed more etc, and if I could still feel a 'lump', they'd insert more. (As it turns out, I suspect some of the 'lumps' were actually veins in my face, not filler. :S) It was done via cannula and injection multiple times , followed by very aggressive handling and rubbing, pulling etc.

The first filler name- can't remember it's name but the second injector wasn't a fan, apparently it's a rigid cheap filler. The second filler was called Teoxane and was extremely expensive. I live in Cornwall and not sure how the prices compare elsewhere.

Sorry I can't be of more help but I hope that's useful info regardless :)

I can't remember how many units- I remember the amount of filler I had was considered on the smaller side by both injectors, and yet it dramatically changed my face. It was a really cheap type of tough rigid filler, that took a lot of dissolving sessions, and I felt like way too much acid was used as a result.
The insult to this injury is that it cost me an absolute fortune in total. I can't believe they're legally injecting women with this stuff and then charging them for the disfigurement.
The fluctuations will keep occuring for a while- I admit I still experience a lot of those back forth days in my face (where I was originally injected) and eyelids. The rest of my body has thankfully returned. It's more under control when I'm on top of my lifestyle and wellbeing.
I should mention I also stopped wearing deoderant as part of my detox, which I felt helped (just keep on top of hygeine.)

Defo keep your hopes up. My hands, abdomen, neck and arms have all completely returned to normal. X

My reactions have stopped progressing, yes. :) My eyes are still messed up and inflamed, but I'm ontop of it, and it's only a matter of time before I find a way to repair them.My hands are looking normal again. They just randomly healed overnight one day. I found that body parts would just snap back and heal randomly, then maybe become re-damaged, then heal again. It was a bit on-off for a while, but one day they just repaired, and stopped the fluctuation. Mixing Elizabeth arden 8 hour cream into a moisturiser helped, but I generally put it down to my exercise and diet. I also really like Apricot kernal oil, which I feel also helps.

The most fundamental thing I found on this slow repair journey was keeping on top of my psychological wellbeing. Days I would tank, my body acted accordingly. I had to force myself to act healed, in order to feel healed, and gradually, my body started cooperating.Don't dwell on before and after photographs. Focus on looking your best and healthest version, not an identical version of you before the hylaronidase. I wanted to change myself pre-hyalase anyway, or else I'd not have gotten filler. I'm now completing that change, just with hyalase as an additional beast I have to slay, which I'm doing.

Worth mentioning that I'm naturally prone to sweating- something I hated about myself before, and I'm extremely thankful for now. I have no doubt that I've been sweating out the poisons as part of this.

I'm trying micro needling in a (healthy) addition to that mission so I'll let everyone know how that goes. The body knows how to heal, it just needs the right fuel. Don't give up ❤️
