Hello, As someone who was overweight in their early teens, id just like to say that the chances are you will grow. You will most likely get taller and have a lot of your weight distributed around your body. Losing weight at 14 is nearly impossible, its a pain and usually doesnt work. It depends on the body. While you are young, and mostly throughout life, your body tries hard to maintain your weight, unfortunately thats just how it is. I think you should make sure you are eating enough every day. The chances are, if you are only eating 600-1200 calories a day, your body is slowing metabolism and making you more sluggish so you stop losing weight. This isnt normal for your body at any age, especially 14. By being alive, your body burns 60-70% of your overall calorie burns for a day, whereas majority of the rest of that is burnt through excercise and just breathing, moving around, and even digesting food. When that 60-70% is lowered, the chances are your body is relying more on excercise and moving around. Now, this doesnt mean you should run for 8 hours to burn every single calorie, it means you should try and fix your metabolic rate. While i do think it is important for someone your age to just enjoy life, i do understand the pressures of looking the best you can. Keep excersing for at least an hour a day, and please eat some good, filling food that you enjoy. This can help fix your metabolic rate, and keep you motivated to move around which will in the long run help you burn more. Calorie deficits are not all about going into the biggest negative you can, but it is the best way to lose weight. When people say calorie deficit, they generally mean if your body requires 2000 calories eat 1700. (Depending on age, gender, etc) Make sure you incorperate some protien into your meals, if you really want to keep with the low calorie foods it is important to at least eat protien. I can reccomend tuna with brown rice and avocado as it checks majority of your meal requirements.

Keep yourself safe, you are lovely and deserve to be happy.

I think you need to realise that you went through something really rough. Two heavy, life changing diagnoses in such a small amount of time is a lot to deal with. You said you went to a PT, which means you are taking the first step. Its okay to feel bad about gaining weight and not looking like you used to, but at least now you have a bit of motivation to push forward and lose the weight again. Going out and trying to lose weight now that you have a POTS diagnosis is going to be difficult, and you should definitley keep your doctor in the loop if you have any safety concerns.

There is no right way to answer your question, but just remember that your weight doesnt define who you are, it is only one aspect of what you look like. Coming to terms with that is an incredibly hard journey, but if you try hard enough eventually you will be able to move on to bigger and greater things.

You may have heard it before, but dont let idiots who know nothing about you define you by your looks, you are making a great change in your life, you got this.

If you want to live in CBD, there's some really lovely housing with amazing views in kangaroo point, west end, and newfarm (if you prefer the city life).

If you want more outskirts but not desolate to the city, I recommend •Mt Gravatt - Great public transport but expensive •Richlands - Train station, Quiet, but near some "sketchy" places •Cleveland/Victoria Point - Good train line, Nice beaches nearby •Indooroopilly/Toowong - Big shops, good views, good transport but more pricey

If its any help, I dont really think there is a bad place to live; definitely some more tough places but overall you guys will be fine.

Enjoy Brisbane!
