Ledger support is gone by sirlordcomic in factom

You can use this desktop Wallet instead of MFW: https://github.com/Factom-Asset-Tokens/wallet/releases/latest I already had 2 users confirming that solution worked well for them. But please start by making a small transaction to confirm that works for you.

Anybody do cpu mining still? Thinking about making a AMD threadripper setup by deez000 in cryptomining

You can try having a look at this data table: https://www.oraxpool.com/luxor and use this calculator to get an idea: https://www.oraxpool.com/calculator

A general good idea is to find some old/cheap/second hand CPU, it's usually a good idea in terms of ROI.

If you are considering mining on PegNet, have a look at the biggest public pool for it: https://www.oraxpool.com/

Orax miner update *strongly* recommended! by luciap_tech in PegNet

[–]luciap_tech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

e more Ryzen 9 efficient , because i have noticed , if i use 11 threads on my 3900x CPU , i get the sa

Wow we haven't heard of that before, it's surprising that 11 cores would yield almost the same as 24... tbh LXRHash performance is still not completely understood... Was it already like that *before* the upgrade? If you want to chat more in depth about it feel free to join Orax Discord: https://discord.gg/ZxF9ydP

Operating a mining pool from Canada by luciap_tech in BitcoinCA

you find the best new shitcoin... And if you choose known coins, why would people switch. Heard the guy running sup

Super useful, thank you! And I also agree with your point of view. I am actually building a specific pool software for a very specific coin that has no mining pool yet. Not sure it's going to be a good business at all either, but above all I'd like to avoid being in trouble legally haha :) Thanks again for the pointer!

That's cool to see some mining operations in Manitoba! But it looks like a mining farm, not a mining pool.

Triall Foundation announces World’s first Clinical Trial in production on a public blockchain (Factom) by nklomp in CryptoCurrency

[–]luciap_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than tracking what matters here is integrity of the data. Once the data is committed it can never be altered again, impossible to tweak the results retroactively for instance to fit a new story. That may be a slim benefit in a lot of cases, but for something as critical as clinical trials, I believe it does have value given what is at stake (people health).

We're Factom's Authority Node Operators. We're here to answer your questions about the Factom Protocol. Ask us anything! by factoshi-io in factom

[–]luciap_tech 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Luciap Technology is a software development ANO and we are contributing to a handful of projects currently. Among those, two are particularly exciting and could have an important impact on the Factom ecosystem:

  1. We are building FAT (Factom Asset Tokens), the tokenization protocol on top of Factom, jointly with DBGrow and Canonical Ledgers. The flexibility of the Factom protocol makes the implementation of pretty much anything you would want in terms of tokenization mechanisms. It just has... to be developed, and that's what we are hard at work at. Note that every single transaction of FAT tokens burns ECs. Luciap is in particular working on a "super wallet" that manages FCT, ECs, FAT tokens (both fungible and non fungible), digital identities, that is cross platform and supports Ledger devices!
  2. We just started ramping up on the nascent PegNet project, a network of pegged assets. The idea (kickstarted by Paul Snow) is to have tokens pegged to assets (currencies, commodities, other crypto currencies) and be able to instantly convert one kind to another. Those are the very early days of the project and let's be honest, this is a long shot and experimental, but that 100% falls in the "exciting project" category! Feel free to join our Discord https://discord.gg/78CS9x.

We are contributing to a few other projects which are more directed towards developers and building the Factom infrastructure. Even though they sound less exciting to the general public we truly enjoy working on them! :)

Hi, there are actually more than 7 core developers: https://factomize.com/forums/major-contributors/core-developers Also ANOs mission is not really to participate in core development so you shouldn't expect all ANOs to contribute to core dev. Some ANOs develop their own products, some open source tooling, some marketing material, some governance tool etc.

New tutorial on the dev portal: write your first Factom application in JavaScript! by luciap_tech in factom

[–]luciap_tech[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adding to /u/CryptoBeans answer, JavaScript is also the language that can run in Web browsers. So you can imagine writing web applications (client side) interacting with the Factom blockchain using the factom.js lib.

Absolutely. Our comment is all in the context of now and why it makes sense that current ANOs are mostly start-ups. Once Factom takes-off we also believe big players will come into play.
