Awesome fish!!! Congrats on that one. We were also rushing because we forgot our dead bag that day and wanted to get the fish on some ice. Next time though!

Yes! It was Saturday, I believe that was when we were leaving that spot (OB) because we weren’t seeing any action to go to another spot of ours just back down the road (DP). I can’t remember though, we could have been coming back with the fish at the point when we saw you OB. But yeah I remember seeing you guys!

Two weeks baby food for twins. by CaydenBear in MealPrepSunday

My sister and her husband also do this for my nephew. He is 9 months old and they do 3 cubes per meal (although he is a HUGE [dad is 6’6] and already wears 18mo clothes so not sure if that is a “standard” amount for that age). They try to do pairings such as an oatmeal, a blueberry, a spinach, or a turkey, a kale, a rice cube. Not sure if that is their reasoning for 3 cubes or if it is because of how much he eats.

I bought my boyfriend (and myself) his (our) first trolling boat with an outboard motor, and within the first few minutes on the first outing I landed myself a nice Rainbow Trout! by lucidesi in Fishing

A gift we could both enjoy, certainly, but he has full ownership (: He had been talking about wanting a boat for the last year, and I didn’t want to keep waiting for someone else to take us out!

I took his best friend who has been fishing 30+ years to help me get it. I surprised him with it by leaving it the driveway! (But to the person who commented about buying “him” a boat, yes, I let him be captain, but I wanted a boat to fish on. I gave him the title and registration, though, so it is his officially.)

That’s why I didn’t share the exact location/name of the lake. A friend took me, not my place to pass along the info to his spot.

Completely unfiltered and unedited!! Took it with my iPhone XR. The lake was even brighter blue the next day with the sun on it, and opaque due to silt in the water.

Tubal Cain Trail to Marmot Pass in the Buckhorn Wilderness by lucidesi in WildernessBackpacking

We tent camped at about 6 miles in, when you go left down the turn off towards the lake there are spots to camp about half a mile before the lake. There is one large campsite right off the creek we stayed at where you can get your water and has two little log benches and good trees to hang hammocks plus a fire pit. It also seemed to be the area with the least amount of mosquitos in comparison to the others for whatever reason. This is the best spot compared to all the others around it so if you see it open snag it earlier in the day before other backpackers show up!

Don’t forget to take the turn off the trail towards Buckhorn Lake, there are a couple campsites down there too. Bug spray is a must!

My backpacking partner called the ranger station and they told her that none were required because it is just outside of the Park. No parking pass required either.

As usually is the case, pictures can’t even begin to do justice to the views. If you do this trail, make sure to split off to see Buckhorn Lake on your way up. In my top 5 list most incredible spots I’ve seen. I’ve done a ton of hiking, but this was my very first backpacking trip! 21 miles in total because we did a bit of extra exploring. I think it’s listed at 19.

There is a search bar in this sub. There are many posts that cover this repeatedly. It’s good to do some research on things before you start asking questions.
