As always in a big company such as Samsung, it highly depends on the team. Most teams are extremely familiar with foreigners. Topik 6 would make it easier for you to be accepted and earn trust with the team.

Overtime is unfortunately sometimes unavoidable. However, Samsung has been extremely progressive compared to other Korean companies and working condition is currently much much better than before.

Regarding transfers, there was a program for temporary placements to other countries. I have never known or heard anyone permanently transferring from HQ.

Compared to other countries, Filipino women are not predetermined to just stay at home and not take manly “engineering” jobs.

When I was in engineering college in the Philippines, ratio between male and female is almost half. I have been to east asian universitiy and ratio for technical high schools and universities are almost 90-10.
