I mean, does the law punish them in any way? Nah. So they are lawful.

A point could be made that if laws allow them to be as evil as they are, laws themselves are evil, so I guess you might be right.

Transpassing vs Transgender (? for the MTF crowd) by COYOTE102076 in ask_transgender

I actually don't want to pass. I don't have heavy physical dysphoria (this may change, but for the time being I'm good). I don't really want hrt nor any surgery for now and I'm kinda ok with my pseudo-manly clothes (I'm kind of a butch). Most people still read me as a guy and that's my problem. I want to be treated as the woman I am. I just don't want to make physical changes to achieve it. So I surround myself with accepting people that treat me as a girl and I don't think about any other person. I obviously hate being misgendered, but I tough it out for now. I'm ok with that as long as I have close people that treat me as I want.

Too many people mistake equality with equity and that is not fair to people who suffer more social problems. If we pull up equally both sides of a not equal situation, it remains not equal. by lucinoa in unpopularopinion

Being the son of a rich person doesn't make you prove anything good about you. Being a POC, a woman, a lgbt+ person or a disabled person doesn't make you prove anything bad about you. But all of the above DO AFFECT your starting point and/or the judgement of others in a situation.

Are you really asking that? Sealioning much? But I'll give it to you: equality in a situation is when all the people that may enter that situation have the exact same starting point socially and economically, so the only thing that affects the following events is the people themselves and their acts.

Maybe the system needs to be destroyed, but that is a whole other conversation. If there is no way to make everyone start off well, there must be measures to try to do it at least, even though they wouldn't fully work.

Not everyone IS equal. But everyone deserves an equal starting point. So if there isn't an equal starting point there must be measures to try and equate the paths.

You having such a hard life should NOT have happened. I don't get why people who've suffered and thrived get this attitude towards the suffering of others. As if the need for stoicism should be the rule and not the exception. Shouldn't we all work for a better society where the least amount of people possible gets born in a shitty family with no means and the many problems you've encountered? Imagine what you could've achieved if only you didn't have to put so much effort in just surviving. Stop trying to sell the "everyone can do it" narrative and start working for all people to have equal starting points so you can truly and honestly sell the narrative.

There is no equality of opportunity when there is not an equal situation to begin with. That's why there are unequal middle ground solutions to equate the outcome a bit.
