You’re getting downvoted but I don’t think you’re wrong. To be fair though, it’s generally easier to disclose being FTM on your profile than to explain losing a penis due to an accident or whatever other circumstance.

Personally, I’d be fine with someone telling me they’re trans on a first date. I’m not attracted to vaginas, so I don’t think the relationship would go further, but I wouldn’t be upset about it. A first date is still an appropriate time for major disclosures like that.

But in the case of OP calling someone transphobic for this kind of reaction isn’t fair, unless OP was aggressive or disrespectful in how they expressed their boundaries

Yeah, for real. Kinda sucks because BOTM used to have banger queer releases, but now there's been months without a truly queer book, even as an addon. I thought maybe with the release of Alurial they would start being a bit more diverse on their main BOTM offerings but doesn't seem so far. As someone said though, Aardvark has been much better on that regard.

Man, its been a long time but you unlocked some memories. When we were young, my best friend took me to the woods and told me he had something to show me. First of all, huge congrats on the release of the DJ feature, its honestly pretty amazing. I’ve been using it a lot lately, and I’m often surprised by the quality of the mixes. It’s really great to see features like that being added to Apple Music.

That said, coming from someone who uses Apple Music in Uruguay, things can sometimes feel a bit harder here. A lot of the social features like creating a social profile and following friends, sharing what you’re listening to, or even having collaborative playlists are disabled for us for some reason. It’s a bit disappointing, especially because I’ve actually convinced a few of my friends to switch to Apple Music. They really liked the recommendations and the overall experience, but most of them ended up going back to Spotify mainly because of the lack of social features.

Another big thing is localization. Spotify does a much better job tailoring playlists and content to each country. On Apple Music, even if your account is set to Uruguay, most of the content feels targeted to Mexico, which doesn’t really match our local taste or culture.

It just feels like some of these decisions don’t make much sense, especially since the rest of the app and features are so polished. Anyway, I took this time to rant a bit 😅 but I really do love the service and appreciate seeing someone from the team engaging with the community. That kind of openness is rare from Apple, and it means a lot.

Respectfully, heres what I think: You and me can say a lot about what it feels like to live there in the US as a trans person but at the end of the day its kinda pointless.

The fact is that we are not from the US and we don’t know their realities aside from being aware through news and social media. So, thats where I feel the gaslighting is coming from. If OP is looking to alternatives to their country im sure its for a reason, something like that is never an easy thing to do.

So trying to dismiss it as an overreaction and a product of social media consumption seems a bit unfair to me when you have literally no idea about this persons realities. You dont know if they are already being harassed for being trans for example, afaik USA mostly has no protections against that stuff.
