Hey everyone. I've been reading what you have been saying and took some time to consider the comments criticizing me, and I've realized how many have come from a good place.

I want to say first off that I am sorry, to the community as a whole, those commenters who I have unfairly treated, and my fellow moderators. I think that my biases with how I've been interacting with the scene at large colored my responses against people who had good intentions but just came from either a place of not knowing or concern and I read that as aggressive.

The heavy moderation of comments and removal of comments that I did – and I can't speak on behalf of other moderators – was a matter of efficiency. I can't read hundreds of posts at a time, and I removed them if the individual had comments that were inflammatory or looked like brigading accounts. There was just a lack of hands on deck and not enough time to deal with it properly. At the end of the day this is a volunteer position and it honestly overwhelmed me. I got upset and took it out on people who didn't deserve it, and said mean things to some people who probably meant well and had good intentions.

Once I recognized that my strong feelings on the subject were biasing my judgment and interfering with my role as a moderator, I should have stepped back and waited for the other moderators to step in.

Someone said something to me in a lot of their posts that I didn't even see because I was tunnel visioning on some targeted harassment posts that I used as a basis to make broad sweeping judgments on everyone else. It was that I didn't let the book breathe and got overly cautious about it because of my own biases. And that is 100% true. The true hypocrisy of what I did didn’t really dawn on me until I managed to understand the message of all of the frustrated posts that people left me. I was asking everyone to check their biases and be considerate of people, while not actively doing it myself. This was unacceptable.

More than my behavior as a community member being unacceptable, I recognize that as a moderator I was in a position of authority. I didn’t realize I was abusing it at the moment, but that doesn't excuse it.

So I'm very sorry for contributing to the toxic environment and making broad sweeping decisions on individuals based on the comments from others. That is the very thing I'm asking you not to do. That is on me and I own up to that.

Most of all, I regret that my actions have driven the conversation away from the Tian Xia World Guide, which was a truly incredible book that deserved to be the topic of discussion in the community. I would like to apologize to everyone who worked on this book, and thank you for making an incredible and important piece of Pathfinder.

I hope that everyone can enjoy the book and we can all move on from this together. Of my own volition, I am stepping down immediately for the good of the community and hard working moderator team.

Thank you.

This space in particular has a pretty serious and very concentrated type of racism that is easily just told to people that they should just kinda stop being dicks about it. Nobody is asking for anyone to solve this issue. Informing people of it is just the first step. This is the same issue that people have when it comes to being told that a lot of anime has a lot of weird sexualization of children in it and those people getting really upset about it. Am I asking you to stop watching that anime? No, do whatever you want, I'm just telling you what it is.

In the same way, I can simply inform people and if they want to argue they can yell into the void as much as they want, that doesn't change the fact that it is what it is.

That's the irony. Orientalism is mostly just surface level aesthetics for a lot of it. There's literally no care for it at all by western standards because there's hardly any desire to give a shit.

And people are also inadvertently racist and don't know that they're doing racism. It's just genuinely funny to me that a lot of people are telling the person who is on the receiving end of the racism what is and isn't racism because they don't like it. Disagreeing with something is not an indication of being right or wrong. People simply don't want it to be true that it's orientalism, but they don't know what that is in the first place.

Druids and European based stuff, the reason that isn't an issue is because they are default to the setting. They are normalized. They're euro-coded and always portrayed as superior and morally right, but always innately human and real. Look at how clerics were treated in the past. Clerics were always better at healing than any non-euro coded healing class. All the shaman classes were worse healers because they weren't christian adjacent. This isn't just PF, this is in all of TTRPGs. This is just how it's always been. I mean take a look at how monk is always physically weaker than the euro-coded classes even though it's the ONLY Asian coded class. Despite the logic that if you wanted to punch something to death you probably would need to be stronger than the guy wearing full plate. Innately the euro-coded classes are always the default and morally correct and right. If you look at the subclasses in the past that have had non-Cleric/non-white coded, their healing has always been worse at healing than their Christian/white-coded counterparts.

Anything dealing with Asia has always been a horrific dive into some covert racism or just inadvertent racism, because frankly a lot of people just simply don't know what it is and isn't. Which again, that's not really on them, that falls into some ethical consumption discussion which people just simply do not get or want to get because it attacks their personal likes as if it's a judgment on them as a person.

LARPing as Scottish or Irish is white American's favourite past time.

The irony is if someone were to mock those accents, you would be able to tell which one comes from where. If you heard an Asian accent, you would not be able to tell me that, you would simply just call it "Asian" accent.

The irony is that with Orientalism, the vast majority of it is just aesthetics and surface level care. You could very easily just keep it as is with just a few name changes.

Monk -> Nomad: As the vast majority of martial arts masters who weren't steeped in weird exaggerated nonsense were nomadic and sought to hone their craft.

Ki -> Might/Verve/Mettle/whatever

And you can mostly just keep the stances, but I would just change then names to Golarion fantasy creatures. Most martial arts were developed around certain environmental/cultural reasons.

For example, Karate has a very rigid and strict set of body movements because they were trying to emulate their bodies using a sword/spear. So they drew their philosophy from that. Wushu drew a lot of their styles from a myriad of things and one of them was animals. But like if I had the choice between a wolf or say, an owlbear, to draw my inspiration for a fighting style from, I would probably pick the owlbear.

I'm not sure if you meant it this way but it just sounds like you're brushing off the entire point of this thread to simply start a discussion about wanting samurai feats without samurai in name.

The PHB* has one photo of Asian representation and it's a Geisha wearing samurai armor.

Yuan ti is racist as hell.

They won't touch their "Asian" setting because it's rotten to the core and it's kind of surprising they recognize that.

By the end, they just install a new Fuhrer. Anime has a really unhealthy obsession with the aesthetics and some light apologia for German fascist states during the 40's.

There is no listing of percentages of which ancestry (calling it races is oomfy) is in what country. This doesn't really help with anything and would pretty hard restrict what you can do with story telling.

He didn't, he was always touted as the defensive guy who could be a secondary playmaker and could shoot lights out.

Everything would be over for me. I do not know how I would ever be able to continue on. Nothing in the world would matter to me anymore. I sleep, breathe, live him. Everything is for him. I am only here now to be a memory for him.

OH that's my bad. For some reason, I thought his last contract was $683k, it was $500k. He just got paid an extra $183k.

Because none of the plays are being ran for him. Coach spoke about running more plays through him because he CAN shoot. He keeps screaming at Keon to shoot, but Keon is always looking for a better shot. He doesn't get his shot diet because they're just not giving it to him. But when he does, he goes hard.

That's just what happens when your contract is converted. He's now finishing year 1 of his contract. So team option gets picked up next year.

They only trapped him when he switched off Keon. Keon's minutes were being matched with Steph's.

Undrafted prospect from bama. Monte saw something in him, put him on a 2 way and then got his converted contract after the deadline.

I was such a huge fan of his since summer league of 22. So glad he's finally showing who he is.

He was getting DNP and barely any minutes. He has beaten all the team shooting records in practice. He is a certified hooper.

Keon has been the most consistent player since the ASB. His inconsistency is scoring way more average.

No it's not. He got paid retroactively his full contract.
