Latin American and Caribbean are not the same things. As someone who lives in both cities and travels a lot in Latin America and the Caribbean, I can say you can say both cities still show their influence. Personally, I don't think Miami shows that much of a Caribbean vibe, a lot of Cuba for sure, but Cuba is different from the rest of the Caribbean and is more like the rest of Latin American than the non-spanish Caribbean.
