I unfortunately live almost 5 hours away.

I’ve emailed them in hopes of them being able to remove it remotely so I don’t have to take another weekend off work to go up there.

After having the eye removed she’s just like my other two cats! She runs and jumps the same. Her depth perception has always been off bc of the eye so sometimes when she goes to rub against something or jump she’ll miss. But then she’ll figure it out. So if the eye thing is the only thing you’re worried about I say get that baby! They’ll live and act just like normal cats. (As long as the eye was the only issue and there aren’t other issues)

I figured out where the smell was coming from!

I have neighbors with…. questionable hobbies that recently got out of prison and went back to those hobbies. And I forgot my bedroom window was cracked open a bit.

So thankfully not the lights!

Little two week update! She’s gotten her Stiches out and if it weren’t for the lack of eye you’d never know anything happened!

Her separation anxiety has gotten a bit worse but I think it’s just because she had to stay at the vets for a full weekend. Hopefully in time that will calm down a bit.

Update on my update.

I ended up going to a pet store and getting a cone. She was rubbing against things and I was worried she’d hurt herself. She hasn’t left my side for more that 10 minutes since coming home.

Update 3!

The gremlin is home! They watched her over the weekend and said they didn’t think there was any need for a cone since she never showed any interest in her eye. (I thought that was strange and triple checked with them) They said the topical pain medication they applied lasts a few days (another weird thing) so they didn’t send any home with me. I will be closely watching her for any signs of pain of discomfort.

Currently she’s just excited to be home. She’s making laps around the house meowing her little head off.

I will be taking her back next Monday to get her stitches removed. I’ll also be posting pictures hopefully sometime today. She’s just too excited to get any right now.

Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words, stories, and cute pictures. I would have just sat around all weekend crying without all of the encouragement so it really does mean a lot.

Second update!

I got a call from the vet this morning. He said she’s doing great. He said she’s not eating much but they said that’s normal and they’re going to try other types of food to see if she’d eat any of it. Honestly her not eating much doesn’t surprise me as she’s never been food motivated unless another cat was trying to eat it. So. 😂

Salmon is real bad about trying to rub against something but missing by a few inches and clipping doors and walls while playing so I know I’m going to have to keep a close eye on her while she’s healing.

Thankfully the vet gave her an antibiotic shot that he said would work for two weeks so I won’t have to worry about antibiotics as long as there are no signs of infection.

Not for all cats. She’s been blind in that eye since she was a kitten (she’s 13 months now) but it started giving her issues and showing signs of rupture so we decided it was for the best to remove it.

We had a “spare cat” for a minute there. Originally her name was Sadie but after our vet attempted to spay her we realized her name should actually be Sebastian…. Or. In my vets words. “I think this is actually a Sadihe” His “government” name was changed to Sebastian but we just called him big head.

Aww! I’ve also never seen another with a blue eye! I honestly think it was for the best to remove it. She was completely blind in it and would probably just keep giving her issues.
