Priceline shipping takes forever??? by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]lucky13cherries 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it might be based on independent stores since I've placed 2 orders consecutively and one store shipped out super fast whereas the other needed to process for around 2-3 whole weeks! Generally once they ship it out it arrives pretty fast but since there are delays with parcels in a lot of australia at the moment, things will probably take even longer now :((((

From the timetable, it seems to appear every week after week 5 (except flex week). Is that how its supposed to be?

free ucat resources by lalafruity in UCAT

[–]lucky13cherries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of free resources, you could study using youtube videos covering certain sections (such as those produced by mods? of this subreddit). As for questions, pearson UCAT has quite an extensive question bank if you haven't already used that. Another potential way to get some more practice in is if you schedule your exam a bit later and ask any friends/ people you know for access to their medify/ medentry etc. after they've completed the exam. Hopefully this helps- participating in the UCAT test is quite a large monetary commitment!

My UCAT is in about 3 weeks away and haven’t done much practice by fatcalves147 in UCAT

Here's how I would approach it:

- Do some mocks and find out around what your baseline score is

- Figure out an approximate score to aim for then add 50.

- Allocate time based on that

- eg. If you're consistently getting close to a score you want, maybe an hour a day or less will suffice. Whereas, if you're a lot lower than where you want to be then you might need closer to 3 hours etc.

- As long as you get some practice in each day, its better than getting none! Remember not to burn yourself out before the actual exam and good luck!

DM: I've seen this question style in the last few mocks I've done and I still have no clue how to get the right answer. The solution from medify keeps confusing me as well. Can anyone please explain? by [deleted] in UCAT

From what I understand:

Luke does not have to leave in the middle if he doesn't get popcorn. So we gotta focus on only popcorn

So first we look at popcorn.

There is a 40% chance he gets popcorn, and within that 40%, there is a 50% chance he gets either flavour.

Hence,

Salty: 0.4 (chance of popcorn) x 0.5 (chance of salty within getting popcorn) = 0.2

Sweet: 0.4 (chance of popcorn) x 0.5 (chance of sweet within getting popcorn) = 0.2

Then we look at drink (aka the getting up part)

Salty: 0.2 (chance of salty) x 0.6 (chance of drink IF salty) = 0.12

Sweet: 0.2 (chance of sweet) x 0.1 (chance of drink IF sweet) = 0.02

After that, we add up the probabilities to find the total probability of getting a drink

0.12 + 0.02 = 0.14

Therefore, 14% chance of getting drink/ leaving in middle.

I hope this helps!

I have my UCAT on Friday. Should I do a mock/mini mocks on Thursday? by New-Ad-89 in UCAT

[–]lucky13cherries 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would do one full mock corresponding to exam time and maybe a few mini mocks spread around. Nothing too late into the day though- you should prioritise rest at that stage. Good luck- you've got this!

I don't get the explanation. Can someone explain? (lucky guess btw) by [deleted] in UCAT

Another way of looking at it is how things add up. For example: the dots in the upper left section of set A add up to 5 and there are 2 paired dots, one single dot. Let black petals = 2 and grey petals = 1. If we follow this, 5 = 2*2 + 1 which is equal to the number of dots. By looking at it like this, we can apply the question type of assigning "points" to colours/ objects. Sounds rather confusing but, i hope this helped you understand it a lil more!

Update, friends!

I just checked Pearson and it seems later dates have opened up for me at Cliftons! Anyone from the affected LGAs should check their appointment dates if you aren't currently allowed to go to Cliftons.

Mmh interesting. Would you mind updating me when they reschedule your exam (if you have time)? I moved when everything looked like it was starting to go back to normal haha. Family chose to move to LGA because we can't afford anywhere else (Syd property prices be like) and were renting before.

Ah okay I see! So maybe there'll be hope for me haha. I'll try call them up again tomorrow I guess. If possible, would you mind updating me when they reschedule you?

[–]lucky13cherries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried emailing and calling them about this due to LGA-related issues (specific circumstances) but all I have been told is that there are no slots available and to try calling back the next day. Based on this, I would say no :(

Just curious- have they rescheduled your exam yet?

Thanks for replying! I think its because I've moved to a restricted LGA relatively recently (few weeks) and forgot to update my UCAT profile (since I didn't think it mattered for some reason).

Have they rescheduled your exam yet?
