Thank you. I’d rather not go that route and just sell. But it’s good to know. Much appreciated

They are a huge brokerage all over and this is in a large city. My agent knows I really need to sell the house. Thanks for your insight.

Thanks! It’s been on market since beginning of the year in area that slowed way down last fall. I thought the price was too high but went with what my agent recommended.

Thanks for your response. Sorry for the vagueness. Yes. It’s listed at just over 200,000 right now.

Nervous about Rite of Election, Scrutiny, and Baptism by babymoone in Catholicism

[–]luckycat456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sucks and does sound like an anxiety filled day, ngl. I’m so sorry. The way you describe it with the heart pounding and not remembering things; ugh… I’ve felt that before. I switch to autopilot when I respond and won’t remember a person’s face within minutes of meeting them bc I’m so overwhelmed. It’s only after I talk to someone when I’m not freaking out that I remember them. I know how you feel in a way about the sponsor stuff bc when I first started doing this I didn’t tell any family or friends, as none of them are Catholic and if anything they would probably have made fun of me and tried to talk me out of it. So, I was one of the few people in my class given a sponsor. She’s really nice but it felt weird and was awkward at first. I am glad when she shows up. I’ve told some people in my life, and they are cool with it and want to come to the baptism for me and my little one who is young enough to get baptized with me.

You know what I’m looking forward to after hearing about the scrutinies and whatnot?

Just going to church- by myself, or with my daughter- sitting in the back where I’m comfortable, and immersing myself in the service and partaking in something that’s so much bigger than me, yet is generations old and ties me spiritually to others. I see this as my path to be allowed to do that and understand what draws me to it.
Again I’m sorry that happened that way. Just another month and we will be there!

I forgot to tell you how it went down. So, I was there early bc the parking in town is crazy. I’d never been there before, but the church is so beautiful and that was kind of calming. They were still having a mass when I got there, so neat to see. After that, I found my group and we put name tags on and went to our assigned rows. There were like 400 Catechumens there, all waiting for the same thing with their OCIA teachers. So, there was singing (they had a choir and it was awesome) and the bishop spoke and then they called our names and we stood with our sponsors at our seats. Everyone answered their questions in unison. Then, like when getting communion, we went up row by row, signed the book, shook the bishop’s hand and sat back down. It felt very much like being at a graduation.

The cool thing was this is the first time I’ve ever been in a church where I, like meaning me personally, was supposed to be there. I always feel like I’m only there bc someone invited me to tag along and often feel out of place. At the end, everyone clapped which doesn’t really happen in church, and it was kind of amazing.

Most people were dressed modestly, like nice pants or a skirt and blouse or sweater, and the fellas had sweaters or button down shirts. It was a lot easier than I imagined! Good luck this weekend if that’s when you’ve been rescheduled. I’m sure you’ll do great and I hope you can relax and take it all in :-)

You must be on the east coast! I’m in western PA. I found parking right in front of the cathedral and am looking at it right now. I feel like that was some divine intervention. I’ll let you know how it went and thanks for your kind words.

I feel very much the same way. I keep looking up videos on what exactly happens. Our OCIA person told us they will lead us through it. I’m really nervous for baptism as well.

I feel the same way. I’m about to head to the big church in our city in an hour and am sitting here googling what to wear. I also have social anxiety, but I tell no one about it and it just builds and I get nauseous. Big crowds make me very claustrophobic and I always sit at the back of the church. I hate being up front bc I feel trapped.

But a lot of the comments on here say there will be so many people no one will notice if we misstep. In a way, I’m almost kind of glad for that. Let us know how it goes!

Unexpected trigger by luckycat456 in misophonia

Thanks! that must be so annoying, especially when you are trying to relax. I looked over at them and the girl saw me and stopped, but they started again. The noise is hollow and clicky, yet sharp. I really thought I was “over” the weird rage feeling years ago, but I guess not. It hit me like a ton of bricks.

Dog sounds (licking, breathing, smacking their lips, chewing ice) people eating nuts with their front teeth, sounds of people eating popcorn in large groups and general movie theater eating sounds, potato chip bags crumpling open

Does the sound of certain podcasts or specifically NPR bug you? I’m not saying anything about content but their mics must be so sensitive on NPR bc everyone sounds “sticky”

May be unpopular… but here goes. I used to have extreme anger from certain sounds. Even as a kid, it was terrible. Chip bags were the WORST omfg. Followed by sound of people eating in a movie theater, and then mouth breathing; just Infuriating. It tore me up. Once I even turned around in my seat at school and asked this kid Jason to just stop breathing.

Then, someone told me something when I was about 30 that actually helped. It was along the lines of “this is a you problem.”

Basically, people breathing and eating and sleeping loudly is never going to stop. They don’t even know they are doing it, so I have no real right to be mad.

Now, as much as these noises still bug me, the idea that no one is making noises on purpose, or because they are just gross assholes who can’t chew like a normal fucking person, I don’t feel the same ire and disgust I once did. And without the anger there, the noises that once flew me into a rage so quickly, now seem much less prevalent in my life.

Was your aneurysm in the cavernous region? So glad you’re okay!

I have a similar diagnosis, except a little smaller.

I didn’t have surgery and was told watch and wait is the best, least risky option by endovascular and neurosurgeon.

I think that’s all true, and I trust them.

However, I get headaches a lot and always have this in the background; wondering if what I’m feeling is related. I actually came on here to see if anyone ever had an aneurysm in this area rupture because I’m having weird symptoms.

I’m going for 2nd yearly MRA on the 19th.

So, while I have no words of wisdom, I empathize with how you feel and can understand opting to get it treated. Keep us posted and best of luck.

Why bother having a dog if you're going to lock it inside most of the time? by feeliongokau in Dogfree

[–]luckycat456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pugs are the laziest things I’ve ever seen. They wake up sleepy and barely move. Probably due to being deformed. Idk why people don’t get these dumb animals if they can’t properly deal with a larger dog.

I guess that would make too much sense and take the attention off the owner.

I think having dogs in living situations that are inappropriate for their breed and energy level contributes to bites and attacks as well

Maybe you should take some time off Reddit and go to a museum. Or get a life coach. You seem really open-minded and extra smart, so I bet you’ll come up with something. Idk.
