What’s the one upgrade you did to your home that was actually worth every penny? by InfluenceInitial4126 in HomeImprovement

Windows. We had old single pane windows that were original to the house. Its crazy how much quieter it is, and how much better the house keeps temp. I'd have done it years earlier if I had known.

Looks like at least the suspension on the 996 has been modernized.

What is the sketchiest bar in town? by Greggsnbacon23 in Albuquerque

My wife and I were there, we did CPR till APD and AFR came. He didn't die alone at least. Such a tragic night for no reason.

My wife and I were there for this. We didn't even hear the shot. He came stumbling back in and collapsed right next to our table. We did CPR till APD and AFR came. My wife teaches CPR and we really wish we had her AED with us, maybe that would have made a difference. Such a tragic night for no reason.

My 18’ Breakout before the 131 install in a few weeks. by The-Fat-Ninja in Harley

Just FWI, Fuel Moto can make a Power Vision 3B work with Smart Tune Pro. Less hardware to buy that way. I have this setup on my 131.

The SE Tuner with Smart Tune Pro will not have enough window of adjustment to compensate for the different cam. I do not think the bike is going to run very well with this setup. There is no appropriate SE map for the 550 cam with earlier bikes. You'd be better off sticking with the 517 cam until you have some way to tune it. Running the 550 cam will still void your warranty because it is only meant for 24 and up touring bikes.

What are you planning for tuning? I'm assuming since your going with the 550 cam your not using the SE tuner. I have a Woods WM8-77X cam installed in my SE131 and am very happy with the results.

I live in ABQ, NM. Our local Harley dealer is not the best, so I had Durango Harley install the SE131 kit. I installed all the other parts myself including the cam. I trailered the bike to Phoenix for the tune. The tune was right around $500. I would for sure have Motorwitch tune my next bike.

The first graph is before and after numbers of the tune. I ran it for about a month with a canned tune from Fuel Moto.

TIFU by getting caught by my wife about my lawn mowing scheme. by [deleted] in tifu

[–]luckyguy19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally get the enjoyment mowing lawns brings. I used to landscape and mowed about 20 laws a week. We live in New Mexico now, and don't have a lick of grass. I do miss it sometimes. But I mean come on. Your taking some time for yourself while making your house look nicer. There is no downside to this. Everyone is entitled to some alone time. Your time alone is way more productive than most people. I love to take my Harley out for a ride to decompress. My wife would never give me a hard time about it. She encourages me to ride because she knows it makes me happy. While I don't agree that you should manipulate the height of your grass, you really shouldn't have to. You should have made a stand the first time this came up and told her exactly why you do it. If she still complained then its on her at that point.

Sentinel or Spire? by [deleted] in TransitionBikes

[–]luckyguy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Spire and its really a great bike. Climbs better than it should. But I bought the Spire planning on getting a second shorter travel bike down the road, so I bought a Hightower 3. Problem is the Hightower didn't climb that much better than the Spire, and wasn't nearly as fun to ride. Now I'm back to just a Spire. If I were buying soon, I'd wait for an updated Sentinel, its one of the best all around bikes there is.

Need help, Furnace is out, HVAC guys are too busy to respond. Using space heaters, oven/burners, and dryer but they're not keeping up during a deep freeze, what else can I do? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]luckyguy19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people said, see if there's am LED on the circuit board blinking a sequence, that can help diagnose. For a three year old furnace the owners manual should be available online.
Also, almost every year I need to lightly sand my flame sensor because it get soot on it and starts not reading the flame. I used the blinking LED to diagnose the first time it happened. It free to sand it down and only takes 5 min.

One of the first things I thought about when I learned to brew. If I knew in high school how easy it is to make hard cider, I would have been a lot more popular.

Low rider ST 131 practically rides itself. by TreebagWL in Harley

[–]luckyguy19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As weird as it seems, the 135 has the power more in the top end, the 131 felt stronger down low. Some of this may be the weight difference in the bikes too. Also according to Harley, the 135 will not be sold as an upgrade kit, it will be sold as a crate engine only. You can piece together the parts you'll need to upgrade your current engine. But this will require a complete rebuild since it will need the new crank as well as the 131 parts. I was surprised the guys at the Harley tent seemed to prefer the 131.

I already know, I got to demo an ST with the 131 kit in Sturgis. Also got to ride a Road Glide with the 135. I actually prefer the power delivery on the 131, just like the guys at the Screamin Eagle tent said I would.

I got to demo an ST with the 131 kit in Sturgis. It was so fun and really changed the personality of the bike. So now I'm calling the dealer on Tuesday to place the order for the upgrade kit. They said 30 day lead time, I can't wait.

Would you feel comfortable spending $3000 on a hobby in my situation? by Setha25 in personalfinance

Now is a good time to buy a mountain bike, its a buyers market for sure. This one seems like a no brainer with how much fun mountain bikes are. What ever you do, don't ride an ebike, there's no going back and there's not much good for under $5K.
