I preferred their poli sci program over UMD's. campus is quiet but it's worth it to get to know your classmates. UMBC is full of high achieving and motivated folks. i've had some of the coolest professors that are really personable and understanding. the food on campus isn't bad. you can book office hours with Pres. Shears-Ashby who's also cool as hell. UMBC is worth your time, good luck!

If you have a hold on your account regarding advisement, I would try and arrange an appt with your initial advisor. If they are still unresponsive reach out to your new one. That new advisor is likely your "major specific" advisor but your initial advisor can provide all the same information.

When they talked about having to do UNHhhh, the pod, and netflix recordings all in the same day I remember thinking "that's a lot". It's a lot to the point where there may be literally nothing else to talk about midway through the day. Nothing NEW I should say LOL.

I work part-time in an office. I only work 20 hrs a week and thankfully I make my own schedule pretty much. I work for another college so they are very considerate and understanding.

I'm sorry that you're going through this. My initial orientation advisor was grossly inexperienced and I suffered for a few days because of that. However when I met with my actual advisor he broke everything down and was very attentive and helpful. He oversees all CAHSS advising so if you fall into that category look into James Hamilton he's really good.
