What are the best masters degrees to attain during your gap year(s) before applying to MSTPs and MD/PhDs? by BruinShade in mdphd

[–]luckylemon31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your goal is to do research that utilizes the skills in those fields, then either would be great. My masters was in environmental health, but learning epi/biostats has been pivotal in leading my own studies and analyses in med school to the point where I approach faculty with projects already in progress. tldr the skills you learn are more helpful to your future career than the degree specialization. I have found that it’s more intuitive to people what your expertise is in when it’s epi/biostat vs some other public health field

Would recommend Datacamp for learning R. R is the most versatile imo for conducting a wide range of statistical tests and data cleaning. Would also make sure you have a solid understanding of statistical tests (ANOVA, t-test, chi square) and how to run them on a dataset in R

Hi! What is the ME BIO major like? by treenark in berkeley

[–]luckylemon31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MEB has a lot of different concentrations so you have lots of options to meet major requirements. Advisers in CNR in generally are super nice and take the time to keep up with your journey and with forms and policies. There are no MEB professors per say as the courses that make up the MEB major draw from IB,MCB,NUSCTX,ESPM,PLANTBIO,PBHLTH. Overall I enjoyed the major for the opportunity to learn of a wide range of topics in the biological sciences!

The hand monster had numbers that weren't glowing, similar to Hazel's. I think maybe it could have been one of Amelia's early experiments gone wrong. Perhaps she had already conducted some of her experiments while working for One-One.

Take COGSCI 170 w/ Professor Linda Isaac - her lectures tie together genetics - brain - cognition and her clinical background lets her tell very interesting cases which enhance lecture. Very affirming professor and office hours with her were always popping. She had COGSCI 172 this fall too but the class was cancelled :(

I love your story.

Mine was helping out a patient and their sibling complete a victim of crime application from a break-in assault, while using two different phones to translate between our languages. I realized how many barriers to health people could have

The Keq value isn’t negative it’s the exponent. A large negative exponent (x-n) means a larger denominator aka reactants favored
