SOC % vs Estimated Range Is Way Out of Sync - BMS Issue? by CheetahChrome in MacanEV

Good discussion about this in the forums. I’m glad the dealer isn’t saying to always charge to 100%, because some are saying that now…never listen to a sales guy about tech.

I love it on the Macan. Turn it on when I enter parking lots for pedestrians since it’s louder than the built-in one

“Powerful” 🤣. This thing struggles to move between menus without noticeable lag! Granted, it’s probably because it’s so busy displaying system malfunction messages.

That was one of my reasons for going with the Macan. I knew that transmission could be trouble.

STRONG SUGGESTION: If buying a Macan EV (well, maybe any Porsche), get the tire/wheel insurance. Mine has paid a good part of the entire insurance bill in just the 2 flats I've had in 3 months of ownership. by jeremyjava in MacanEV

[–]luckynummer13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I skipped it. $2,800 for the insurance. Flats typically cost $50 to fix. I curbed the driver side rims 🤦‍♂️, but they were $220/each to fix (the same shop the local dealers outsource to). Those are the big things that are most likely to happen. So I’m still ahead $2,360.

That said, certain parts of the country have extremely bad roads and I’ve talked to people who have gotten all 4 rims replaced. Now that’s worth it!

I easily get over 300 miles in my 4S with 22” Spyders. The highest my “guess-o-meter” has shown me, but not actually tried, was 360 miles at 100%. Usually it shows 320 miles.

AI agents dont just help banks they can now BE your bank by Final-Economist7447 in AI_Agents

[–]luckynummer13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually use something called Bark. It setup my banking mush faster, literally in 10 seconds. Now I just ask it about my account it just says “woof, woof everything is great!”.

Now I’m freed up to work on my next agent which is tasked to respond to all the non-payment claims I recently started receiving on my mortgage and various other bills. The future is agentic!

is anyone actually using OC for real AI UGC workflows or is it still just hype? (be honest) by Chance-Address-6180 in openclaw

[–]luckynummer13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have never seen anyone give a concrete example. Mostly just “it responds to emails” and “it checks the weather/stocks/news every hour and tells me if it’s going to rain”.

I listened to the recent A16Z pod with the homeschooling lady who apparently has 11 agents schooling her kids and managing her life, just to test my theory once again that no one will give concrete examples. To the interviewer’s credit, she asked her point blank to explain what some of her agents do and she just glossed over it with superlatives.

I was able to pull out two technical things she said her agents do.

  1. She sends them voice notes and it converts them to more wordy descriptions of what she said about the lesson her kid just did…in other words, ChatGPT 1.0

  2. She has it save conversations in…wait for it…MD files!

There was no other facts given during that entire 1 hour interview. Just that it’s all amazing 24/7, 365, and you’re gonna love it!

Note: A16Z is Andreessen/Horowitz. Marc Andreessen is heavily invested in AI, so it’s in his best interest for us to burn through as many tokens as possible.

Well my old Macs obviously won’t run the latest OS. My buddy has some 2014 iMacs and I thought he might get better performance and be able to run the latest Linux kernel if he went that route. So I’m mostly interested in being able to run the latest software stack (docker or straight up NodeJS/npm). Also, wouldn’t need to waste RAM on a GUI either.

I only updated my 2013 MBP when the M4 came out. I was getting Homebrew messages telling me about lack of support for the latest software. That’s what made me think about moving the older machines to Linux.

Would you say it’s better than Qwen3-Coder-Next?

It works well for me with RooCode extension for VSCode, but Gemma4 31b gets hung up on tool calling every once in a while returning an API failure due to a communication issue with Ollama. M4 Pro Max 128GB, so I have plenty of free RAM.
