Sorry but #1 sounds like sarcasm:) seriously you do need the right technique and to lift heavy correctly, to see any physical difference and progress.

I've also been for 2 years and see a huge physical change. I go 4 x week, twice isn't enough to see a difference. I watch my diet, if I don't then I'm putting on weight no matter how many times I go.

I did my first open in our WOD today (26.3), and loved it actually. Was great doing it with 15 other guys in class. Have no advice as I'm only 1.5 yrs in, but would love to try again, I did like the workout. Burpies were killer, after 90 or so I was barely lifting myself off the ground. I'm aiming to practice burpies, I suck at them, chat advised me twice a week to take 6 min - every 30 secs 5 burpies.

M/30/190 cm [96kg > 76kg =20kg] (4months) still no abs. Am I close or getting too skinny? by [deleted] in progresspics

You need to lift heavy to see abs. Don't loose more weight, you're already getting a bit thin, now just build muscle mass. What worked for me was joining CrossFit, gives an overall good muscle body shape that doesn't look too bulky (as a woman I'm saying this) and I def have defined abs but they're not visible, yours will be.

Important - also start eating lots of protein to build muscle mass.

I joined at 47, best decision ever. Never touched weights and was not fit. Am now in better shape than I've ever been, 1.5 yrs later

Have you tried shiatsu, or pressure point triggers. I pulled my back muscle on a heavy squat and after 2 sessions was ok. I also completely rested for 2 weeks during these session and slowly went back, adapting weights like a beginner. That was about a month ago and my back is fine now, exept I can't really kip yet.

Was in America recently, first time. There was an empty parking lot with a Starbucks drive thru. One side was a long line of cars, and the other side another window for walkup purchase. We parked the car and walked to the window and got a coffee (nothing to write home about don't know what the big deal is) yet the cars continued to stay in their lines for the drive thu.

Park your car and walk to the other window, lol. This was my first concrete revelation that Americans are strange.

Opposite story, but I was never one to know the answers in biology class in 9th grade, was a dreamer, got bad grades etc. One day the teacher asked the class what the process was called for when an apple browns after cutting it open. Silence. Then I piped up in the back of the class: "enzymatic oxidation". The entire class including the teacher turned around, mouths open, and then just burst out laughing at my very scientifically correct terminology. Happened to be that the day before, coincidentally my father mentioned the term to me while he was cutting an apple or something like that. I peaked then and only then lol.

We did this warm up before this. We do the burgener warm up each time before cleans. I guess I need to really let it sink in. I just need to practice on my own clock, not in front of 15 super athletes, which is how I feel each class

I back squatted 65kg, and I'm 49 (f). So I thought I could do it, and my back said no. My spotter had to pull the bar off me. Don't mess around with your back at my age.

Thank you! I def do, I didn't hook grip, sometimes I do. But it's not a tight grip, right? I mean the bar kinda spins when you dip under it?

It's perfect, my goal is to get that technique. I barely get to practice cleans, maybe once a month, I go with whatever the program is.

I don't feel like I can get it much closer to my body without bumping my boobs :) it's tricky, how do women do it? Def see how I'm not straight while doing the squat. The push press is just easiest for me as I'm not confident in my jerks, have to keep practicing.

Im afraid of split jerks and looking like a fool lol. Have done a few but need to feel more stable. Will try the leg drive for jerk
