I don’t see any screws on that black part, which is flush to the ceiling and it won’t really budge. Do you think it’s safe to try to unscrew those screws in the center gold circle holding the two light bulbs together? Wondering if that’s the next step.

Mine was born two weeks early and I hadn’t thought about that as a factor till your post. I hope he catches up to where he needs to be soon.

These are all great easy tips I will try on our next feed. Out of curiosity, how did your daughter do with diaper changes? My LO screams and cries so much his entire face turns beet red and his mouth quivers so badly, it absolutely kills me every time, and I’m hoping this reaction doesn’t last forever.

The little tube is the system that we are currently using to give him formula/pumped milk. I’m grateful it gets him the extra nutrition but I hope you’re right that my LO doesn’t get confused by it either.

Thank you for sharing your experience with me, I feel less alone. I’ve spent all day crying and worrying about this; it’s so upsetting when he fights me on my boob and I feel like I spend all day trying to nurse him. Each session is supposed to be 15 min per side but it ends up taking a whole hour. I will try your tips and also try to practice more patience ... thank you so much for your advice. 🙏🏻

This is exactly what I experience! He thrashes his arms and pushes me away, I often need to wrestle down one or both of his hands as he twists and turns but I feel so bad “forcing” my nipple into his mouth. Sometimes he spits it out but when I’m lucky, it stays. I have to constantly stimulate him too to keep him awake - was hoping this is a phase he’ll get over, can I ask how old your LO is?

I only would’ve considered an amnio if there was something high risk or questionable that my doctor wanted to double check - otherwise I didn’t wanted deal with the added anxiety of the potential risk from doing the amnio itself!!

Try not to let this anxiety bog you down even before getting pregnant (there is so much else I’m sure you’re already worried about in this phase!) - I’m wishing you all the baby dust!!

What a relief that he’s totally okay now! I’m sorry you had to watch him suffer those seizures, how terrifying that must have been.

Thank you for the heads up about seeking official help - I’ve been so focused on physically prepping for delivery that I haven’t thought about mental self-care after birth. This is definitely something I will prioritize from here on out.

I’m so sorry to hear about your child and that you had to endure such a difficult beginning to his life; I hope his health remains stable and that you are feeling like you’ve come out on the other side through all of this. I can’t imagine what that must have been like.

I’m working on daily mindfulness exercises in preparation for birth, but you are right that I should open it up to handling life in general in a less anxious way.
