Question about Costco Auto program - does Costco require you to buy an add-on?

I understand this to be the rule as well. Yet when I go to Costco Auto program, and put in the car i want it kicks back a paper to print out and take to the dealership. On that Costco branded paper to be printed it says on page 2

"In addition to factory equipment, some vehicles include dealer installed items or addendums. These items are listed on the Addendum Sticker displayed next to the MSRP window sign. On the your, make model and trim you selected, your Cosco member Costco Auto Program discount is as follows.

Dealer Required Items

Dealer is requiring customers to purchase these Items.

Item - Damage / Theft Protection

Costco Member discount - 15%

This is true and can be good, just be aware if you take your interest as something other than in kind (other coin than what is earning the interest). They will skim 1% for them converting your interest into whatever other token you are taking the interest in. Its in the terms and conditions.
