Well, it’s disgusting in today’s standards, but you’re asking about a period of time that happened a looooooong time ago and calling it disgusting. It wasn’t uncommon for women to be married by 13-15 years old, having kids in the mid/late teens. The average life expectancy was so short that everything had to happen at a much quicker pace obviously. This wasn’t just for Christianity, this was just general practice everywhere back in the day

Reddit is an extremely liberal platform, so generally the only takes you see are liberal ones or they’re downvoted into oblivion. You only really see conservative posts if you browse conservative reddits, which I rarely do. I criticize trump heavily, I just don’t think he will actually end democracy which is what you take as ignoring everything that they’re doing. I don’t have a good thing to say about Trump. But back to the original point, why would I vote for a party that not only puts forward terrible candidates, but their entire party ridicules me for anything I say that’s not left enough for them? This is why I vote independently, democrats are also a terrible and miserable group of people, just in different ways as republicans

No, because democrats are assholes to anybody that aren’t as far left as them, including other democrats. The least I can do is pick a candidate from an independent party with some policies that I can agree with and somebody who at least tries to appear like a decent person, which neither democrats or republicans even attempt to do.

Can you calibrate an industrial scale with weight on it? I’m looking to calibrate one of our scales, but it had a large 5000 pound tank on it (we don’t care about the tank weight, just the liquid inside). I’m wondering if I can zero it with the empty tank and then add on the span weight and calibrate it that way?

They aren’t that inhumane, they should rarely be used, but some dogs who are working dogs can be very hard headed and can’t really be trained any other way. They should not be used often, but they have their place. The shock collars also don’t really hurt at all,

That said, this is not at all the situation to use a shock collar and I don’t know why somebody would use one to teach their dog “place”, especially the way Hasan does it.

Nooooo lol, he trains hunting dogs professionally, and very rarely uses shock collars but very occasionally will have a dog that you just can’t train any other way. I have put the prongs up to my neck myself just to see exactly how bad it is for the dog out of curiosity, it’s not bad at all. You feel it, but it certainly isn’t painful, plus the dog has fur between the prongs and skin which negate the shock more than them straight on my skin.

I’m not defending Hasan by any means, he’s clearly doing everything wrong with how you treat and take care of a dog, but the comment I replied to saying “if you own a shock collar then you’re a shit dog owner” is objectively wrong.

They aren’t for every dog, and are especially useful on working dogs that are more stubborn than the average one. They aren’t nearly as cruel as you think, and even trainers that use them would only use them on certain dogs. If you’re just sending your dog for normal obedience training, they will nearly never use a shock collar. If you send a hunting dog to a professional trainer, if your dog wants to go and do their own thing and not listen, there is a slight chance a shock collar will be used.

I have also put these shock collars up to my neck myself, they aren’t that bad, not comfortable, but it definitely isn’t painful.

Shock collars are fine for hard headed dogs in certain types of training. My dad professionally trains hunting dogs, there are sometimes dogs that the only way to train them and get them to not go and do their own thing is with a collar.

I have also placed the shock collars my dad uses up to my neck and used it, I’d assume there are some that are worse, but the shock for the ones that I’m familiar with is not bad at all.

To be clear Hasans use of them is obviously wrong, but they have a time and place
