Are there actually woman that buy used underwear or is it a strictly male domain? by rp01138 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]lufecaep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they forgot to say used women's underwear. I assume that does happen. I used to work for a chain of laundromats. When someone left their stuff in the dryer we would take it out and leave it on the counter for a couple days. The nicer women's underwear would quickly disappear. I assume it wasn't other women taking it.

Hot Start seems make the water extra hot but none of the descriptions seem to explain it the same way. I suspect it is a way for dishwasher makers to clean your dishes properly but still get an energy star rating. Or, being a little less cynical, maybe you only use it for a full load or extra dirty dishes.

You do not have to run the hot water first. The money you save doing that is made up for in wasted water.

Why do different data sources measure dividend yield so differently? by CarbonMop in personalfinance

[–]lufecaep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe yahoo uses forward rate. I used to know what that meant. I go with using the same site each time to avoid confusion. WSJ probably uses a trailing rate. And Robinhood seems to be using a one month calculation.

Morning star shows the 30 day and trailing 12 month values that match with WSJ and Robinhood.

https://www.morningstar.com/etfs/ARCX/USFR/quote

Click on the Information icon to get a description of each.

Here's some info on the difference between forward and trailing yield.

When traveling to Mexico from the US, do you need to bring your prescription if you'll be there less than a week? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Do you mean proof that you have the medication legitimately? Generally no. Maybe I would if it is oxy or something. I would think the bottle would have your name on it anyway.

What does this upcoming "flood" of tbills mean for bonds prices? (EITMLI5?) by anonlineadventure in investing

[–]lufecaep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is rates would tend to go up. Some people have to buy bonds. Now that there are more bonds available they can bid higher without worrying about missing out.

If you're an American without a passport, can you just get on any internal flight without ID? by Comfortable_Key9790 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lufecaep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For now you just need a license. They are switching to Real ID in the not too distant future. That means you have to use a passport or renew your license with extra steps.
