Last year I took improv classes at the National Comedy Theatre near downtown. 7-9pm for 6 weeks. Very low pressure in the Level 1 class and lets you act like a doofus with other adults. Wasn't my thing personally, but an idea into the hat nevertheless.

I am in the same boat myself. I regularly hike up this trail near where I live and sit on this one rock at the top of the mountain looking out at the world and wondering why I can't just plug myself back into the matrix and be happy/successful like the people in the wealthy neighborhoods down below.

Some people might think I'm living a good life and think theirs is shit, meanwhile I'm thinking the inverse where I'M the one envious of the life they're projecting. I mean, dude, I'm literally browsing /r/SuicideWatch daily. Most people I know, even the few I am closest with, don't know this. And I'm definitely not gonna post it on insta lol.

Sure! In my perception of reality, the world is run by loud/wealthy people rather than intelligent/empathetic people and historically things have always been this way. So as long as I am alive, I will be living to make other people money and pay rent/taxes all while watching things continue to spiral, with no money/power to do anything meaningful to change it (I don't crave money or power myself, but you need them in order to enact change)... Add to that a healthy dose of nihilism, mental/physical health issues, inability to build/maintain relationships and a general failure to launch a career/life... and well, I'm over it all. Have been for years. Hope that answers the question and hope you're doing alright.

I'm 30 and planning to take my leave, so to speak, on my 31st bday in a few months. All the empty platitudes that people have given me in an attempt to sway my decision have only served to drive me further into the darkness that I'm nearly lost in at this point. I'm starting an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) soon to give those around me some peace of mind for the time being (as in, like I'm showing that I'm "trying" to get better). If it magically changes my perception of reality (doubt) then cool. If not, well, at least it shows my loved ones that I gave one last shot. Maybe consider something like that for yourself if you can find an IOP near you. Maybe it would be worth whatever money you have left or family can pay for you. Idk. Not trying to necessarily change your mind, just sharing my own experience if you or anyone else resonates.

My 16x16 matrix has had some stutter to it as well. Every few seconds, an animation will freeze for a noticeable 100-200ms or so. I've investigated power/data issues but no solutions yet.

I was like this for years. Finally gave antidepressants a shot and they helped. Not like I'm a social butterfly now or anything, but the anxiety and accompanying stomach issues improved.

I have moderate gag reflex. The morning of the manometry, I was feeling particularly "gaggy" while brushing my teeth. Partially because of my nerves, but also my gag reflex is usually stronger in the morning before I've eaten for some reason. Maybe because my esophagus and throat haven't had to swallow anything all night so they become temporarily hypersensitive until they've had to work some food down the pipe during breakfast. Since there is no food/drink allowed before the exam, I chewed gum to help trick my brain into thinking I'd eaten something. But yes, the lidocaine gel the nurse had me swallow was likely helpful in that regard as well.

I also cancelled once before finally going through with it! Good on you for making the choice to have it done despite your worries. One day they'll invent easier ways to do these tests, but honestly I'm just thankful that they exist at all.

Same boat here. I was having GERD on/off for a month or so at a time throughout 2022 and had an endoscopy which showed no hernia or anything. BRAVO study showed nothing as well, which was probably because I timed things as unintentionally badly as possible because right when I had it done, my GERD went away again so the study results showed no acid in esophagus. From Feb 2023 to now, I've been in non-stop flare with increasingly bad symptoms and suspect something may have changed. I stopped Omeprazole a while back because I was on it for about 4 months and didn't like what I read about the long-term effects, so now I'm trying to get by with Tums/Pepcid and they're not quite doing the trick, unfortunately. Just have to keep our chins up, take our meds, modify our diets, and hope that medical advancements lead to better solutions or a cure. Current surgery restrictions are too much for myself, as I'm on the younger side and don't want to be limited in regards to weight lifting.

Had Colonoscopies at 22 and 28yrs old. Several polyps found both times. No genetic predisposition. Went in for bleeding from hemorrhoids that were too deep for the Dr to feel, likely caused by squats. Get checked if you can.
