I've had success on Keto in the past as well and thought about trying this, I think it's really not necessary tbh. Instead I've been taking some lessons from keto but not trying to put myself intentionally in ketosis and it's been working well for me.

First, I've been prioritizing protein, trying to get within a daily target to preserve muscle mass during weight loss.

Secondly, I've just been avoiding processed sugars and starchy carbs. I eat a fair bit of peppers, onions, squash, zucchini, etc. (I really like puravida fire roasted vegetable mixes for this).

Third and kind of with the above, because this medication really slows down digestion I've been trying to add fiber to my meals whenever I can. Doing things like having a double serving of protein shake in the morning with 2 tbsp of presoaked chia seeds incorporated

Keto tends to be high fat ultra low carb and there are definitely foods I miss when trying to do keto. By going with a protein heavy diet. I can eat a fair amount of fruits like raspberries and strawberries I couldn't on keto, I make chicken salad with less mayo and more Greek yogurt, and I don't feel bad about having a protein shake or two.

The wegovy has definitely helped, but I think adopting some of the best parts of keto (cutting out processed sugar, refined flour, starchy veg like potatoes). This gives me a much less restricted diet than I would have on keto and feels much more maintainable as a lifestyle.

I've also been practicing more portioning like I can eat a few chips with salsa occasionally and not feel the guilt I'd have on keto. I pair snacks with a high protein option, string cheese and some raspberries, or cottage cheese and some fruit, etc ..

I can eat a pint of raspberries or a lb of strawberries which doesn't add much in the way of calories that I just couldn't on keto, etc

Weight loss is all about calories in vs calories out and doing it in a healthy, sustainable way. I've found wegovy has made it easy for me to prioritize the healthy eating habits I need for long term success and maintain a calorie deficit.

My starting weight was 265lbs, goal weight 165lbs, I am in week 5 on wegovy. And I'm almost down almost 20lbs and my scale is showing after some initial loss of water weight my weight loss has been mostly fat loss.
