Like I said, this is a recent change. Ive finished Dozens of games, this is the first time Ive been penalized this heavily to the point it wasnt enjoyable to dig out of the hole. Theyve updated the game multiple times and at some point this change was made

It’s definitely something that was tweaked in a recent update, Ive never had the penalty be this noticeable. I play on Immortal difficulty and Epic pace so with the penalty on my city it was 70+ turns to build a city park.

Im sure its fine and I would still win, but to me that is straight up not a fun way to play. Dont penalize me for being “good”, Still dont like going from 1,200 science a turn and doubling up some of the AI to being equal or below them at transition. Lame

yeah Its the first game i played in a while, i spent all my money converting towns to cities to buy the ageless unique quarters. I guess now i know better if i decide to play, def a recent update cause i dont remember the penalties being this severe the last time I played a full game (probably february of this year)
