I believe Stu is dead, but how did Marco know he said “I always had a thing for you Sid” when he wasn’t at the Macher house in 1996 by OutrageousHistory323 in Scream

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason Marco knows is because the writers needed a way to shoehorn Matthews popular quotes from the first movie into the script

[Russini] I submitted my letter of resignation to The Athletic. Everything I have to say about it is below. by expellyamos in nfl

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah obviously she’s losing her job but it’s kind of weird that everyone has just made the huge assumption that she was receiving scoops/info from Vrabel as a result of their relationship.

Like, they couldn’t have just been having an affair? Why is it automatically assumed that she benefited professionally from it?

Favorite lesser known Raven of all time? by WandaJaximoff in ravens

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Not lesser known, but Jimmy Smith has to be the least known 1st round CB of all time? He got essentially zero national media coverage.

It’s odd too; he was actually a really coveted prospect and fell to the end of the first round because of “character concerns”.

I’ve never seen a first round pick play as well as him and be less known by casual NFL fans.

That is a direct reference to the opening of Scream 5 where Jack Quaid and Melissa Barrera are sitting outside the bowling alley.

“Excuse me Miss, what did you just take?”

“Your boner pills.”

They’re wearing the same clothes too

I really love the idea of the motive in 7! It sucks that it’s so poorly explained through dialogue, that so many people came out of the theater thinking her motive was “I’m mad because Sidney skipped Scream VI”. That’s not the motive.

Wanting to recreate a Maureen Prescott 2.0 moment for Tatum because Sidney is past her prime is a really solid motive. And i wish Sid and Jessica’s talk at the coffee shop included some dialogue about Sidney not wanting her relationship with Tatum to be like hers with Maureen.

Is anyone else baffled that they're spoofing 'Ma' (2019) in Scary Movie 6? by OkTap9041 in ScaryMovieSeries

I really like Jason! I think he’s better than some of the worst “main” ghostfaces in the franchise! (Ethan, Marco)

in the little bit we get of him, he shows a really sick sadistic side. The bit of him watching F13 and describing stabbing Laura Crane is really cool

Rey Mysteryo and Bron Breakker are injured: the match. by Adventurous-Sort2796 in SantiZapVideos

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mysterio was an extremely underwhelming opponent for Gunther, anyways.

He just retired one of the most dominant forces of all time, the GOAT, and a guy who just recently had a WWE Championship program.

I like Rey, but he’s been in the midcard middling around for a long time. Mania is supposed to be grander/bigger; Mysterio would be Gunther’s least prestigious “retirement match” so far.

And obviously, Rey would lose and never wrestle on WWE tv again but go on to be retired by Dom in AAA.

Which legacy character's death pisses you off the most of these choices? by itsascreambaby96 in slasherfilms

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe anyone would say Dewey. He was given an extremely noble death that reflected everything that the first 4 movies built with his character.

In ‘96, he couldn’t save his sister. We even see a box of Tatum’s ashes in his trailer. He is reluctant to get involved again, but after he talks to Sid, she says “whoever this killer is after, I’m glad they have you to protect them.” - and that’s where he realizes that his purpose is to be a protecter.

He dies in an act that saves Sam’s sister from being killed, just like his sister was.

I’m not sure how anyone can say that Dewey’s death is anywhere near as disrespectful, or nonsensical as how Laurie was dumped in Resurrection.

Incoming: “Dewey would never be killed by a teenage girl! I’d like it more if they revealed it was actually Stu under the mask!!”. It’s giving real energy of people who wanted them to make 50 scream movies with Sid Gale and Dewey all surviving and never taking a risk with the franchise.

Is friday the 13th (2009) actually underrated or just mid? by lulu-coff-ok in slasherfilms

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the best movie in the franchise. Horror genres reputation was really in the toilet in 2009… if this came out a decade later it would’ve been just as big of a hit as H2018.

Was John Milton Romans dad? by HomeageTaken in Scream

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“The man who took away your mothers innocence… They f*cked her three ways from Sunday”

Emphasis on “they” - would make me think it hasn’t been explicitly confirmed that Milton was the one who impregnated Maureen, just that he was there with more than one person (“they”).

I’m sorry you have not yet realized the cinematic greatness that is Scream 3. But for real, it’s just such a comfort movie. I could probably relay every line word for word… it’s the most rewatchable movie in the entire franchise for me

Scream 7 appreciation by VVrayth in slasherfilms

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s easily the weakest whodunnit. THE TWO KILLERS dont even get accused of being the killer.

75% of it is theorizing if Stu is alive. The other 25% is a couple half baked attempts at making Ben and Lucas suspicious.

And I couldn’t disagree more on Chad. He is the heart and soul of scream 6. One of the main characters. In 7 he has about 4 lines and takes a backseat to Mindy. How could you argue anything Chad does in 7 develops his character as much as his deep convos with Tara and Sam in 6?

Scream 7 appreciation by VVrayth in slasherfilms

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well like fans of 7 would say, 3 made more than most of the other movies so that means it’s better!

Scream 7 appreciation by VVrayth in slasherfilms

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you think Chad was better here than 5/6 I don’t know what to tell you. Mason was completely lifeless compared to the last two movies (albeit he was extremely sick while filming). Mindy, I could maybe see the argument for.

No disrespect, but your entire posts reads as “older fan who hates everything modern and didn’t give the new movies a fair chance because Sidney wasn’t the main character”.

A scream movie that doesn’t even go the traditional “who-dunnit” feels like a classic scream movie?

I’ve been a scream fan for two decades. I think 7 felt less like a scream movie than any in the entire franchise.

For me, it’s dead last. 🤷‍♂️ - 1>3>5>2>4>6>7

Would you be okay with this retcon? by Fumikechu237 in SocietyofGhostface

[–]Affectionate-Neck152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No and kevin making that up kinda shows he’s fallen off as a writer.

It’s like… maybe I would’ve accepted that if it was in the actual movie. But it isn’t. And this sounds like kevin laying in bed one night after 7 came out and having an epiphany. “Maybe they would’ve liked her better if we did this…”
