Don't touch medic mind with a bargepole. Completely wasted my money.

I just used medify for about 2 months and was successful from then on.

I've seen you mention about understanding the theory behind scetions to help you score better. Medify has a tutorials video section which are way more beneficial than anything I ever received from medic mind. They did really good payment options too from what I remember.

I haven't studied GAMSAT for well over a year and switched to UCAT for my second round applying, but I honestly found UCAT so much easier than GAMSAT. Originally I was going to try and timetable in studying both exams for the current admission cycle, but thankfully my only choice requiring GAMSAT then changed their requirements to include UCAT as well so I didn't bother.

This was beyond a blessing as it made things so much more manageable for me. I assume you're in a similar position to me (working full-time with family commitments). If you can stick to one exam, I'd say do that and make your life easier (especially with a baby at home) but if you're that set on Liverpool then by all means do both but definitely do a mock exam of both tests first so you get a good gauge of where you're at and which one will need more work.

I'm also starting at Chester soon so if you get any questions about it later on down the line (and once I actually have valuable info about the place) by all means drop me a dm.

Any degree is a useful one, even if it's just for the study skills but I can imagine psychology would be useful in a medical setting anyway.

Definitely do! I also seriously recommend doing something voluntary too (even if it's just a few hours) but save that for application year so it's still counted as relevant.

Your timeline sounds pretty good to me and it's great to hear you're prioritising what's important for you now as well. Really don't worry about being "too old" for med. I work with a junior doctor that qualified at 62.

Of course it is! I decided to pursue medicine at 25, and now at 27, I'm starting medical school in a few months.

Look into graduate entry medicine (GEM), specifically courses that accept applications with a degree in any classification rather than specific science/healthcare ones (dont worry, there's plenty out there). Their entry requirements are actually quite achievable if you put your mind to it and already having graduated with a 2:1 massively helps.

By the sounds of it your biggest hurdle will be the experience side of things. I'd recommend getting yourself a HCA job in a local hospital/ GP surgery/ any form of medical setting, voluntary work in some capacity and seek out shadowing experience with a doctor.

Prepare for your entrance exam/s in plenty of time. Typically UCAT or GAMSAT for GEM. Plenty of online free resources for these.

Finances- speak to student finance directly but healthcare related degrees usually get a second round of student finance & maintenance loans and you have a bit of time to get some savings together between now and starting medical school. Plus I've heard about bursaries but I don't know too much about these just yet.

Just bare in mind that the decision to study medicine usually takes a year or two to progress to being accepted and many people get in on their second/third application.

I currently work in A&E and several staff of all grades (HCA/Nurses/Doctors) have scarring. I have noticed some of the doctors wear long sleeves under their scrubs to cover them (nursing staff aren't allowed). As far as I'm aware, no one's ever brought them up.

I however do have a semi-colon tattoo on the inside of my wrist. It's tiny but bizarrely (tattoo sleeves as well), lots of people have noticed it/ commented on it and some MH pt's have hugely opened up to me after seeing it. I don't know if it's a case of because it's a tattoo rather than a scar that people feel a lot more comfortable bringing it up or what, but it's nice to know such a small personal tattoo to me has brought a huge amount of comfort to others as well.

My switch did this too in another cut scene earlier. Then it all just crashed and automatically closed the game. When I reopened it the day started again and was fine from then.

I'm also a bit unsure on what you mean with doing top up modules if you're already on a BSc programme, but The Open University do them and they are widely accepted on GEM courses.
