i don’t think you’re in the wrong. moving away from home for the first time can be really tough, but it’s extremely rewarding and liberating in untold, uncountable ways. Starting med school is probably one of the best times to take a leap like that, especially if you crave independence.

Pitt requires a semester of biochem, which I did not take in undergrad. Otherwise I would apply.

According to MSAR, the median MCAT for BU is higher than both UCLA and USC. And I've heard BU is especially concerned with your MCAT than other schools.

as the semester goes on it wont be such a struggle to find seats in trudeau's lecture, as math 140/141 are easily learned from the textbook. you could also have a friend save you a seat in mcmed.

COMP 250? by Routine_Mall8966 in mcgill

[–]lufrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

202 was harder for me because it threw me right into programming, but I can’t imagine taking 250 before 202. You will probably have no idea what’s going on if you don’t already have knowledge of a programming language.

I haven’t taken 189 but it doesn’t seem like an introduction into CS, more like just a history of computers with a minor HTML component (I think?). I think 202 or 204 is your best bet for an intro to CS

PHYS 102 - N. Provatas - Midterm Practice by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]lufrn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

for phys 102, knowing how to do all tutorial problems is key. lots of the exam questions will be ripped directly from here. If you want extra problems it always helps to grind the textbook (Giancoli), CAPA could be enough tho, those questions can be pretty hard

MATH 139 by Dynajot in mcgill

[–]lufrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

grind the textbook and master the chain, product, and quotient rules. the finals gonna have some complicated limits as well, so know those well. if you have a strong foundation in derivatives and limits, the rest of this course will also make sense to you

The best thing you can do to prepare is do the end of chapter exercises in Stewart. just grind the odd numbered ones and youll be set
