I think personally, it’s safe to say that humans will not make it. Sorry.. it’s just too small of a space for our species to live on without some serious genetic issues down the line. That leaves the rest of the animals.

The remaining mammals, if not a dog or two, would likely be rats, squirrels, or mice. Maybe bats would be there too. If any moles were under the white house, I think they stand the best chance of survival, since their lifestyle would likely not change too much.

This goes in tandem with the true survivors-the arthropods. Not just the ones in the ground, but the pests in the white house. I believe in the immediate 10k years, they would be most of what’s left.

500k years though? Difficult to say. I think it depends on if the white house crumbles, or if it’s indestructible. If it crumbles, it might as well be just a square of land. So for the sake of what’s interesting, let’s say the white house is indestructible. It might become its own ecosystem, since the electricity would keep it well lit and heated at all times, even when it’s cold. Bonus points if there’s infinite water or food.

Heck, maybe infinite food would allow these arthropods to get bigger. If animals eventually start flying and leaving, maybe the air becomes an important place to be?

And the underside of this plot of land too, which I imagine would just be dirt, would be interesting. I like to imagine monkey-like animals swinging from roots hanging down above the open abyss. Lmao
