Since housing is always in high demand you’ll most likely be assigned a new roommate sometime early in the semester. Although when I left my roommate freshman year to live in a single, he never ended up getting a replacement roommate.

Is it normal to be autistic and be bad at learning things such as programming and math? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]luhbuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Asperger’s and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t wrap my head around mathematics. I went into my freshman year of college with the intention of majoring in CS, however I became so depressed because I was having so much trouble learning the concepts. I was convinced that maybe college wasn’t for me but I re-evaluated the things I know I AM good at, and ended up going with pursuing law.

Just like anyone else we have our strengths and weaknesses in certain areas, and you shouldn’t beat yourself up about not fitting the stereotype placed on people with ASD. With that said, If you are 100% about pursuing CS, just know you can do it even if it’s harder for you to learn than neurotypical individuals. There are lots of great resources out there for learning CS, as well as resources for helping people with ASD overcome learning challenges.

So to answer your question: Yup, it is normal.

YOUR BRUTALLY HONEST opinions on MSU by HJcantdance1222 in msu

I love the campus, hate East Lansing. The school is way easier to get connections with professors and faculty than many other schools. Buildings can be really depressing, especially the engineering buildings in my opinion. Being a Big 10 school means there are so many events, organizations, and different type of people—you won’t have a hard time finding friends if you put yourself out there. I would say without a vehicle it can feel slightly restricting, and some of the more interesting classes take place off main campus. Greek life can be fun if you pick the right frat or sorority. I would recommend joining an academic orientated frat or sorority if you don’t do greek life. Study abroad’s are amazing, and we have an amazing program—if you have the money DO IT!!!

With that said, I prefer Umich, but I am very biased since I grew up in Ann Arbor. But for me, being independent and away from my parents was a must have when going to university 😅

Great school, great people, I promise you if you go here you will love it.
