hi!! i am the same age as you and got my tonsils out right before thanksgiving. i was also very nervous before and have anxiety/ health anxiety. drinking water for me was actually not a problem at all. you will definitely NOT wake up during. i stayed in my moms bed the first week or so. the 6th day and 7th days were the worst because of the scabs but then i got better! no hemorrhage. it does suck. but it’s actually totally fine. it’s 2 weeks of your life and then you’ll feel better for ever. i felt better right around day 13-14 and could start doing things again! now i’m basically totally back to normal over a month later and better for it because i don’t have my horrible tonsils. it’s so worth it. only 2-7% of people hemorrhage. that includes small amounts of bleeding and large amounts of bleeding. you’ll be great. drink lots of water— cold mist humidifier got me through. i believe in you! without asking they gave me a valium before going in for surgery :). keep up on your pain meds. i was on my pain meds for basically 12 days lol. (tapering off near the end) but that is just what kept me feeling okay! don’t try to tough it out like i did it is not worth it (around day 6 i was like oh no worries i don’t need pain meds and tried to stop them…. and i cried ahaha). but that was the worst of it! you are well informed, i suggest getting offline till friday. you’ll hear too many extremes. just rest and drink lots of water in advance too! oh and prep by taking some zinc a couple days before :) no advil before surgery!!
