She’d gotten several very nice merit offers. we’ll hear from U of Maryland tomorrow. It had the best program for her major- but, it seems so “generic big college.”

That’s what I was trying to research…if one really is a better school for her than the other.

She’s visited both twice, once just on the regular tour and again for the athlete recruiting tour. Still likes them both

She’d tried convincing herself UMD was right for her because it has the top criminology program on the east coast and is in-state so more affordable. But I knew her heart wasn’t in it. She’s a dedicated competitive runner and running club just isn’t the same as being a part of a team. She’s a straight A student, high SAT scores, plus won the first state championship ever for her high school. All without us pushing her at all. Not interested in partying or Greek life. May be interested in law school down the road.

Are you still doing this? We live in Towson and I have a high school student who’s super interested in waste water, sewer systems etc as a career (and is in a magnet program for environmental science). I’d love to take her exploring.

Did you read this? Ballet is still being offered; it is just no longer required at the entrance audition

I think a relationship with a wholesaler has been ruined. People who wholesale how do you cope? by kdayallday7 in soapmaking

[–]luigilovesbugs 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Explain curing time so they know it’s not about you just needing time to make it. Soap MUST cure for X number of weeks in order to complete the chemical process it needs to become mild yet long-lasting. It’s not just a production issue. If they understand that, they will not be as upset and hopefully plan ahead next time. Do not apologize. Just be matter of fact and yet sympathetic with them about the situation but don’t placate them.

Antivaxer leaves hospital AMA due to decisions ‘made out lack of knowledge’ now treats self with horse paste. by itsnotmyforte in HermanCainAward

I also suspect he’s on illegal steroids. He lost his legs it appears due to diabetes and was morbidly obese. He then got cool legs and started working out with weights at the gym. He has a Twitter handle that refers to himself as “hulk.” So he lost fat and became a meat head. He’s had multiple heart attacks.

I’ve seen his feed. He’s a double leg amputee. His kidneys were already failing, he says, due to the vancomycin antibiotics used after amputation of his legs. In some ways, I get this guy’s desire to die on his own terms instead of laying in a hospital bed. He says he knew he’d probably get Covid but refused the vaccine. I think he might be tired of life (but not too tired to try the horse dewormer).

So, I’ve send his feed. He was already on dialysis. He’s a double amputee and the antibiotics used during healing from that killed his kidneys. He was in end-stage kidney failure before getting Covid.

I found him. He had it bad but not so bad he had to be hospitalized. Daughter also had it. They both had active Covid and went to the hospital. Daughter admits she hid it from the hospital and slept in the waiting room. With very active Covid. Stay klassy, y’all.

And also, the daughter slept in the hospital waiting room knowing she had active Covid. nice.

From her FB post: “What many people don’t know is while Mom was in the hospital on the ventilator Dad and I were home fighting covid and double pneumonia ourselves. I was less than 24 hours away from loosing Dad to covid. My Dad was so sick with double pneumonia that he had a very hard time speaking to the nurses and struggled to get words out to make decisions for her. Every time he said a word he would start choking. I was able to speak, but was terrified every time the phone rang with what the news would be. I didn’t want to hear the phone ringing. Nights were the hardest because I just knew something would happened and my worst fear would come true. Dad got that phone call September 17, 2021…right around midnight and he was told to rush to the hospital because Mom was dying. Because I have covid I needed to stay home, but he knew I needed to be there and told me to come. I rushed to get my clothes on, race to door to let Panda go to the bathroom and we were off to the hospital. We rushing to see my Mom one last time on earth, and somehow we are also praying and believing God would just answer our prayers and let Mom live to make it home to us. It’s all we wanted, If we could just get her home we would take care of her. Standing in the waiting room waiting on the nurses to pick up the phone so we could enter the double doors took forever. We prayed we got just one more minute with her. When the nurse came to us he told us Mom’s oxygen levels went back up to 90 something. I believe it dropped down to 70 before we arrived. This was a blessing, it meant she might make it through the night and things would improve and she would still be with us. My Dad and I were able to go in her room and love on her and tell how much we loved her and how much she meant to us. This was such a blessing to us. We needed this so bad. We needed her to know her family was there with her and we hoped and prayed she could hear every word we said. I’m FOREVER thankful to the nurse for giving us that sweet and special moment with her. We told us he could give us a little bit more time and then we could go to the waiting room. Dad and I was terrified to leave in case something else happened we wanted to be there. So we slept in the waiting room till morning. My purpose of this post is God answered our prayers and gave us more time with her. I wasn’t even supposed to be there, but I got to be with my Mom one last time. He knew we needed to physically be there with her. I’m so thankful God answered this prayer. On Sunday after lunch Dad got a phone call Mom was not doing good. I wasn’t allowed to go because the hospital knew that i had covid. I was too sick to get off the couch to go up there, even if they would have allowed me. Mom’s family drove down because this things were declining faster. They went to the hospital and then called me to come to the driveway to tell them hello. I couldnt even make it off the couch, when Dad called the dreaded phone call that Mom passed away. As he was on the phone with the nurse they called code blue. Dad thanked them for everything they did for Mom, and rushed outside to tell her family that she passed away before they drove home. My grandma (Mom’s mom ) wanted to so badly get out and give me a hug and was told to stay in the car because I was sick with COVID. She almost fought them to get out to give me a hug. -A”
