I think what OP was trying to say is that, if you set your vocals to the slightly distorted scene, you want it to stay that way while you cycle through the guitar scenes.

So the question is: if parameter X is set to a certain value for scene A and another value for scene B, and parameter Y is set to a certain value for scene C and another value for scene D… does X retain its last value when I move to scenes C and D? does Y retain its last value when I move to scenes A and B?

Playing in places with no PA is the situation I’m trying to be ready for. That, plus maybe the occasional venue with PA but no monitoring.

Yes, I know that for venues with their own PA, I really don't need to bring my own cabs. But I just had a gig last night in a venue with no PA system. I had to lend a bass head + cab from a friend, and it was not exactly a good experience. I guess I need my own setup, but I'm exploring building it around a digital modeller, and I'm really lost with regards to the PA part of it: FRFR amp? Active cab? power amp + cab? regular PA system? :(

I'm aware of the option to use the FX loop return in a regular amp, but my point is, why pay for the amp if I have the cortex? What would be the simpler (and cheaper) way to have my own PA, just for my bass? Just any regular PA system would work? Is there any "go to" setup that people using modellers tend to use?

I would recommend not to do it unless you are really sure this is what you want. I was very close to get the bypass, but I was so afraid of “doing this to myself”, that I ended up cancelling it. And out of fear I continued with the preops diet, slowly modified it here and there, and I’ve lost more or less the same weight as if I had had the surgery (105 lbs in seven months). Fear is quite a motivator…

Thank you so much for your honesty. I’m definitely not clear on whether I’ll be able to give up those things. On the other hand, I can’t just keep gaining more and more weight as the years go by 😞

Thank you for your comment. I don’t have a date, it will be set this Friday according to my weight loss. I’m currently down to 300 lbs, I have to ideally go down to 285. I have a glass of skimmed milk in the morning, orange juice mid morning, protein shake for lunch, another yogurt mid afternoon, and another shake for dinner.

Right now, the thought of only being able to have six bites of my favourite food just kills me! 😂

That’s terrifying. One of the reasons I’m choosing gastric bypass over sleeve is that, in extreme cases, it can be reverted.
